  1. Looks like the GS20 is back for 2023. Anxious to hear some reviews about the ski wake.

  3. @Rednucleus I had a similar experience in April 2020. I had a 2019 Syndicate Omni and when crossing the wakes, I came down hard on the front of the ski which broke the ski in between the front and rear boot. I rolled my ankle badly which resulted in a peroneal tendon subluxation injury which required surgery. No fun. HO replaced my ski at no cost, but the injury was a doozy.
  4. I’ve enjoyed reading this thread @ScarletArrow. As an open water skier, I share a lot of your same feelings. I enjoy wake surfing with family and friends, but it’s frustrating to watch surfing take over this industry. Fewer manufacturers are building DD boats and we’re even starting to see a decline in crossover boats. I agree that the Sunsetter LXi and X14 are some of the best DD crossover boats. But I have to add the Response FXi into this list as well. I own a ‘09 RFXi and couldn’t be happier with the overall performance for slalom skiing and surfing while also giving you more storage.
  5. I think there are many skiers like me that don’t have access to a course and just need a boat that can ski well on the open water while also giving more room for the family due to an increased beam and freeboard. And if a boat like this can also produce a decent wake for beginner/intermediate surfers, then great. I consider myself lucky to own an RFXi and find that it is the perfect crossover boat for my family of six. It’s just sad to hear that there are fewer and fewer crossover boats in production.
  6. My brother in-law and I have been talking about crossover boats and he just noticed that Nautique does not have the GS20 listed on their website for 2023. Can anyone confirm? I personally feel the VTX and the GS20 have been the top choices for crossover boats. It would be sad to see Nautique exiting the crossover market.
  7. I’m the proud owner of a 2009 FXi and I have a family of 4 kids ranging from 5 to 14 years old. I ski on public lakes and can’t imagine owning any other boat. Slalom skiing is our #1 priority, but we can lower the power wedge, fill the 400 lb ballast, and add a suction wake shaper that suddenly creates a great wake for us to surf on when water conditions aren’t ideal. And because it’s a direct drive, the slalom wake is better at 15-off and slower speeds than a V-drive (IMO). I for one would LOVE to see an updated version of this boat. Imagine a new RFXi with updated technology including ZeroOff, surfgate, and power wedge 3 with ‘lift mode’! Or...like @Ski_Dad said, a new X14 with the running surface of the new ProStar! I’ll continue to cross my fingers that someday this could happen and in the meantime, I’ll be grateful to own a unicorn (‘09-‘11 RFXi).
  8. @Martin1980 found a Carbon Pro for my buddy (thank you), but it sounds like he doesn't love the closed bow and smaller interior of the Carbon Pro. He wants the ability to take a few family members with him on occasion. He just found a local 2018 Nautique 200 for sale, but we haven't seen that boat talked about much on this thread, so I think the ProStar is still at the top of his list.
  9. I think his budget is pretty flexible. He has looked at boats from $30k up to $70k. He just wants to pay a fair price.
  10. Are there certain boats that are known to have a better slalom wake at 15off and slower speeds? I have a buddy that is ready to buy a new ski boat and he frequently skis 15-off/28-30mph. He is in his 60s and doesn't aspire to someday ski 35-off at 36mph. He just wants a good boat with a good wake that will get him through the longer line and the slower speeds. He's been looking at the newer TXi and Prostar but is open to almost anything if it will give him a good wake. Thoughts?
  11. Windsurfnut, I’m afraid an XL would be too big for me too. Thank you for your reply
  12. I should probably clarify...I currently have the ski in the photo (2016 Radar Vapor Lithium). Been wanting to find the gloves that match. I wish I would have just bought them back I’m 2016
  13. Been looking for gloves to match my ski. Does anyone know where I can buy these? Willing to look at new or used if they are in decent shape. I need a size LARGE.
  14. @inland I think I'm leaning towards a 2007-2011 LXi. I don't have the money for a TXi, and I like that the newer LXi has a taller nose to reduce dipping the nose into the water. I have looked at some '06s though, and I am very jealous of yours :)
  15. It's true @Zman, you have a beautiful boat! @inland‌, thank you for the compliment. I've been looking at a little of everything. Haha. Just trying to find the right boat, with the right options, for the right price. I'm sure my search will gain some momentum once I sell this boat.
