Baller Sethro Posted August 16 Baller Share Posted August 16 I don't know about ignorance. It causes one to disregard information or facts, but I think they still have the information...just refuse to acknowledge it. 😁

Baller_ Popular Post mike_mapple Posted August 16 Baller_ Popular Post Share Posted August 16 Personally I have people come into the shop tell me exactly what they dont like about there ski/gear, and then buy something from the same brand because "they have always skied on it" when Brand B offers exactly what they are looking for. Dont get me wrong you can have favorites, but unless you are a pro getting paid, or skis for free, do what is best for you. 12 Performance Ski and Surf Mike@perfski.com 👾
Baller S1Pitts Posted August 16 Baller Share Posted August 16 I have skied on 4 different brands of ski the last 6 years. My buddies roast me when my ski bag brand carries a different brand ski inside. I just don't care! I use and ski what works best for me. I am with @jayski on his line of thinking. I like trying the different flavors. I just wish my budget allowed me to try them all.

Baller_ The_MS Posted August 17 Baller_ Share Posted August 17 Let me try most people would rather ski on their 80-year-old slalom ski rather then giving another brand a try.
Baller ETskier Posted August 17 Baller Share Posted August 17 The other thing we do stupid, is we try a new ski, then start adjusting to make it ski like our old one.

I’ve got four 2024 models in the quiver right now…but two are the same brand (different lengths) so maybe it’s just three

Baller Jordan Posted August 17 Baller Share Posted August 17 Years ago I bought a Goode 9700.When I showed up at my ski buddy's dock, he said, "I thought you were an HO guy"... It made me laugh. I did have 2 HO skis in a row, but not because of any brand loyalty. I had over the years, a Maheraja, a Lapointe O'Brien, two HOs, a Goode amd a Radar. I think there are several very good skis at any given time.

My son is skiing on a ski from the 80s but not because he’s brand loyal, it’s just because I haven’t figured out what to buy him (and money is a factor 🥲) we have dad skiing on a 68” Connelly concept impulse series , daughter on 65” HO free ride (currently working for our mainly open water useage); son on 63.5” Connelly SP from the 80s as mentioned above (it’s Kevlar 🙃) other daughter and I ski O’Brien combos And when shopping for a boat we looked at nautique, Malibu, and MC so yeah no brand loyalty here 🫣🤣

Baller 6balls Posted August 18 Baller Share Posted August 18 Agree with the above, but if you are smoking on a particular ski, don't let it go. Ok to try something else but DO NOT LET IT GO even if you have a honeymoon on a new ski.
