It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Ian Faulkner, a beloved and integral part of the Moomba Masters Organising Committee for 32 years. Ian's dedication to the world of water skiing is unparalleled, having served as the Australian Tournament Director from 1973 to 1982 and the Australian Team Coach/Manager from 1969 to 1982. His visionary contributions include the creation of the AWSA Master Plan in 1979, which laid the foundation for the development of Tournament Water Skiing in Australia.

Ian's expertise and passion extended beyond our shores, as he was a valued member of the World Water Ski Union Technical Committee from 1974 to 1989. His outstanding achievements were recognised globally when he was inducted into the International Hall of Fame in 1999 and the WAWA Hall of Fame in 2011.

Ian's legacy will forever be remembered in the water skiing community. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Ian. Your contributions and spirit will continue to inspire us all.
