Baller sgregg Posted July 5 Baller Share Posted July 5 Was the Hyrogate optional equipment on the 196? Looking at a used 2007 with no gate.
Baller h2onhk Posted July 5 Baller Share Posted July 5 Yes it was an option. It can be added. I bought my 2007 used from a dealer and had them add the hydrogate and Zero off at the time of purchase. Was definitely worth adding in my opinion.
Baller BKistler Posted July 5 Baller Share Posted July 5 Gotta have a gate for trix on the 196.
Baller dbutcher Posted July 5 Baller Share Posted July 5 I agree with @BKistler about needing the hydrogate for tricks. I had a 2007 196 that was a promo boat at the time. Lifting the hydrogate allows the stern to run a little deeper for a larger and arguably smoother wake. That is good for trick skiers. If all you pull is slalom and have no plans to ever pull trick skiers, the fixed plate (non-adjustable gate) at the back of the boat is fine. Baller Jmoski Posted July 5 Baller Share Posted July 5 It should have a fixed plate on the transom that is the same as having the hydro gate in the engaged position. If your slalom only your good to go.
Baller Mateo_Vargas Posted July 5 Baller Share Posted July 5 @Lovell has one with just the plate screwed on in the back.
