Reflex Classic Slalom Shell v. Reflex Classic Slalom Carbon U Shell

I recently attempted to make the switch from double Powershells to a Reflex R Style Rear and a front FM Silvretta Release unit.  Things were progressing until the Silvretta Release prematurely exploded while cutting across the wakes at 32 off, resulting in by far the hardest fall I have had in over 20 years.

I am looking at replacing my front boot with either a Reflex Classic Boot or the Classic Carbon U.   In attempting to perform some due diligence,  am I correct in my assumption that the pictures I continually find online of the pros, the majority of them are still using the Classic Slalom shell? 

Does anyone have any experience/recommendations between the two shells?

@Fjeff Interested in the same. Anyone tried the carbon u and can explain the difference in feeling?

Why change boots?   The reflex release was the problem not the boot

get a fm with the cuff release no mechanical release 

the reflex release unit was developed for ww1.  For the military.
It’s a Pos. Imo.

The Carbon U is for skiers who want the shell to be stiffer side to side. I know more than a few skiers who feel that the stiffer feel side to side is better. Personally, I like a very soft shell side to side. It is a personal preference.
