Baller Thomas_Gustafson Posted March 22, 2023 Baller Share Posted March 22, 2023 The 5th annual ”Waterski ITALY tour” will happen again between Sept 25th and Oct 11th 2023. ”Waterski ITALY tour” is a guided tour from the north east of ITALY towards the west and then all the way south to Napoli. There are 8 exclusive spots being open to any level skier and non skiers are welcome aswell. Like past years we will visit 10 of Italy’s best ski sites but in 2022 one new lake was added so there will be 11 ski sites in 2023. With skiing and an unforgettable culinary experience the tour is something that must be experienced as the tour travels through 6 different regions (Piemonte, Lombardi, Trentino Alto Adige, Emilia Roman, Lazio & Campania) and each region producing its own culinary treasures. I would say that there are few if any country in the world where you will find such diversity in food in one country. As a matter of fact it was suggested that I name the tour “Waterski & Eat ITALY tour” Since 1991 I have come to work in Italy running ski school. I have enjoyed these past 30+ years visiting, skiing, competing & capturing photos for waterski magazine of all these different ski sites, and been exposed to some of the best food in the world and become a (as they say in Italy) ”Una buona forchetta”. "This a tour that will tantalizes the taste of every skier with any level of ability or experience. Every ski site was an experience of its own, all set in beautiful Italian locations that are for the most part away from the hustle and bustle of the major cities and tourist sites. Thomas had arranged magnificent accommodation in great locations throughout the trip with the food being an absolute highlight. Every meal was the best of the local cuisine accompanied by very beautiful wines. Everything ran very smoothly from pickup to drop off. I will be back to do it all again anther day." The trip looks awesome, and why waste vacation time by not skiing on vacation. Totally understand and since this is an annual trip I look forward having you in the future. What could be better than combining our favorite water sport with traveling to Italy? Turns out not much could be better! Thomas planned and executed this first tour nearly perfect. The areas covered, the mode of transportation, the places we stayed, the lakes that we skied at and the stories that go with them, the people we met, and the food we ate were all A1 perfect! In fact he should rename the tour to " The eat and ski Italy tour". If you love to eat, especially seafood, and love to waterski this is your tour. As a side note, I am a vegetarian and Thomas took meticulous care in making sure I had great food to eat as well. My husband and I have a love for traveling and exploring but rarely go back to the same place because 'how do you know where your favorite place in the world is if you don't go explore'? This is one of three places we would like to return to or things we would like to do again.
