Baller RichardDoane Posted March 11 Author Baller Share Posted March 11 We checked the engine box fit yesterday, and it still fits, but we’ll have to adjust it a little to the right because of where the ecm locates on the new 6.
Baller RichardDoane Posted March 11 Author Baller Share Posted March 11 Clearance for the front belt cover would adversely affect it, so in this application it can’t be used. The original power train didn’t have one anyway, so not a big deal. As always, care must be exercised when running the engine with the box or lid not in place. Rotating belts/pulleys are dangerous things.
Baller Mastercrafter Posted March 12 Baller Share Posted March 12 Thanks @RichardDoane — makes sense and I appreciate the pics and info.
Baller MDB1056 Posted March 12 Baller Share Posted March 12 Personally I prefer to not have a cover over the belt and pulleys . A standard step each day before running is a visual inspection under the box, which should include your belt(s) . Can’t see anything with that plastic cover on . Owner should be fine with it I’d expect.
Members skiinxs
The plastic covers break at the mounts a lot, but the purpose is not safety around the belts. They were put on to prevent water ingestion into the front air intake.

Baller RichardDoane Posted March 14 Author Baller Share Posted March 14 as an old school boat engine guy, I hooked up the heater hoses the old fashion way, hot from an exhaust manifold fitting, and returned it into the raw water intake. with the 6.0 engine all i would have had to do is take off the u-shaped hose at the left front lower, and use those fittings for to/from the heater core. Baller_ AdamCord Posted March 16 Baller_ Share Posted March 16 @RichardDoane you’re doing a great job with the Hilltop club boat! I also can’t thank you enough for scheduling the engine swap for when I’m at out of the country at Ski Paradise 😎 Can’t wait to ski it when I get home

Baller Gloersen Posted Monday at 08:36 PM Baller Share Posted Monday at 08:36 PM (edited) nice work, gonna be an awesome slalom tug! when converting from 5.7 ZO (dual puck) to 6.0 ZO (ECI puck RevS) I had to re-flash the headunit using Aquastar with an Ecom cable. Just assumed the different software for the ZO head unit (listed in the table below for RevS for all engine types) is to match the EControls calibration file differences from 5.7 to 6.0. Despite the re-flash my head unit still displays the original engine config (apparently not changed with the re-flash) but the SW type is appropriately displayed after re-flashing with the 6.0 software obtained from ZO (display in diagnostic mode pic below). Baller RichardDoane Posted Tuesday at 04:37 AM Author Baller Share Posted Tuesday at 04:37 AM @Gloersen when we upgraded the boat a couple years ago to RevS, we did do a re-flash with the e-com file, but this new 6.0 power plant assembly includes a new ecm that comes ready to go from PCM
Baller Gloersen Posted Tuesday at 12:04 PM Baller Share Posted Tuesday at 12:04 PM (edited) @RichardDoane same here, the ZR409 bobtail package drop-in was pretty much PlugnPlay. The ZO software though is loaded into the ZO head unit's firmware (rather than the ECM). As you may recall when updating to Rev S, Enovation Controls sent an encrypted .mot file with a passcode along with an override password to use (if the software indicates it doesn't recognize the hardware), even though the software is paired with info given below when ordering from ZO: Zero Off Software Update Rev S (Head Unit Model Number: E1887007A, Head Unit Serial Number: 002027, Boat Make: Nautique, Boat Model: 2003 SN 196 ZR409 (new install), I have a compatible head unit and GPS puck: Yes, I am aware that I will need an ECOM cable to program my head unit: Yes) In fact, the initial .mot file sent to me was for a 6.2/5.3L motor as pic'd below, after some easy email exchanges with EControls, they sent me the correct file for the 6.0 (in this case the .mot file matching the head unit mounted in a 196 dash since the accelerometers are oriented differently than your 200's angled mount to the side) loaded with a subsequent re-flash of the head unit (pic'd above in prior post). Easy enough to check which software is loaded in the diagnostic screen, regardless of the SW loaded (E1886180S?), could be the pull will feel ok, but my hunch is the SW needs to match the 6.0 motor (E1886190S) for the ideal pull, especially the gate shot. Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted Tuesday at 01:51 PM Baller_ Share Posted Tuesday at 01:51 PM probably a dumb question, you did make sure and tell them that your utilizing the console display mount set up when you asked for a file? side mount i think they call it.. like said probably a dumb question, accelerometers care how they are oriented. Just wandered through the shop after a few days away and one of those new 6.0's wrapped in a nest of plastic just manifested it's self on my shop floor....... Back to work.

Baller RichardDoane Posted Thursday at 04:19 AM Author Baller Share Posted Thursday at 04:19 AM @Gloersen thanks for the info. ZO sent me the new .mot file for upgrading. That boat will be ready for an initial oil change next week, and we should have the new prop by then. I’m looking forward to skiing behind it, after all the working on it. nice pic from Adam Cord. Baller jpwhit Posted Thursday at 02:05 PM Baller Share Posted Thursday at 02:05 PM So the final answer appears to be that a different ZO calibration is required ?
Baller RichardDoane Posted Thursday at 03:14 PM Author Baller Share Posted Thursday at 03:14 PM yes, refer to the chart that @Gloersen posted above, 6.0 calibration is a different file than the original 5.7, we'll see what @AdamCord thinks about the change net week
