Baller ETskier Posted January 26 Baller Share Posted January 26 Central WI Skier. In your pic it appears they go counterclockwise around their islands. If true, this leaves an awkward set up. I like islands, but build it to go clockwise if you have the room..
Baller LeonL Posted January 26 Baller Share Posted January 26 @Central WI Skier personally, 2000' begs for islands.

Baller LoopSki Posted January 26 Baller Share Posted January 26 @ETskier I used to ski at a site like that it was really weird.
Baller LK_skier Posted January 26 Baller Share Posted January 26 @JoelHowley do you advocate turn stumps ?
Baller MI3Eventer Posted January 27 Baller Share Posted January 27 As stated I think it always depends on how much layout you're working with, but if I were to do it I'd do no turn island even though I think they look great if done right. Rationale for me is for tournaments that adds time to every skier to circle the island instead of shooting straight into the course. I ski at a site with a pretty short setup on one end and we have plenty of short line 36 mph skiers who have time to get up and ready (helps having that 6.0L MC)
Baller 6balls Posted February 11 Baller Share Posted February 11 I hear on good info that the dig has begun, and there will be islands. Can't wait to see it(and outfish you at the next opportunity my friend).
Members Nater
Looks like a nice site going up. Curious, how long is the lake going to be end end? Also, wondering what the short lines are graded at??
Members jcwaterskiparadise
As a coach, when you are in boat all day with turning islands, on short lake, it is very hard not to be sick with the centrifuge force on the observer seat. Best place is on the driver seat, inside of the curve. So if i can choose no turning island for me. More fun to ski, but off course your lake need to be long enough...
