Baller LeonL Posted July 22, 2022 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2022 What happened to the days of old (not really so old) when multiple day events like Regionals and Nationals posted scorebooks daily?

Baller LeonL Posted July 23, 2022 Author Baller Share Posted July 23, 2022 Uh, not scorebooks guys.
Baller ETskier Posted July 23, 2022 Baller Share Posted July 23, 2022 Scorebooks are not posted until the tournament is closed out, usually a couple days. Depends on the due diligence of the chief scorer.
Baller ETskier Posted July 23, 2022 Baller Share Posted July 23, 2022 They used to do it each day, but with all the info required, it's difficult now to close out each day. Live scoring requires no extra steps by the scorer, it's automatic.
Baller Broussard Posted July 23, 2022 Baller Share Posted July 23, 2022 @LeonL What information are you looking for that isn't available using live scoring? .
Baller LeonL Posted July 25, 2022 Author Baller Share Posted July 25, 2022 @Broussard same info but in a much more readable format, and official. Also much easier to navigate, none of the jumping back and forth from event/division. @ETskier what additional info is required that didn't used to be? Baller Broussard Posted July 25, 2022 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2022 @LeonL It simply isn't worth the effort for the scorer to export the tournament, send it to the seeding coordinator, then have the seeding coordinator upload it to the back end system of the USA-WSWS website when all of the information is available through live scoring. The links Matt posted have official results by division. .
Members brettmainer
One thing the live scoring lacks is results from run-offs. The order of names with the tie scores is not reflective of who won the run-off. Western Regionals M6 slalom is a good example. Four skiers tied for the lead with 2@38, but the actual placement order after the run-offs is not updated on waterskiresults.com. Even today, 4 days after the event, the "results" show: Storelee Tate Gaastra Hegewald I believe the final placement after the runoff was: 1. Hegewald 2. Storelee 3. Gaastra 4. Tate 5. Haw (not in the run-off)
Baller Mateo_Vargas Posted July 26, 2022 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2022 Let's not talk about runoffs
Baller klindy Posted July 26, 2022 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2022 A scorer can run a pdf copy of a partial scorebook (like they do for running orders) and post it to the waterskiresults site. Check the Jr US Open tournament a few weeks ago and look on the far upper right of the page for a link to the pdf’s. There may be others that I don’t know about. Members brettmainer
@Mateo_Vargas, you need to start at -35 once and while during practice. It is one thing to fold against Lafavor in Laku when he goes out first and runs 7@44, but to hand it to @Horton like that on Saturday…
Baller Mateo_Vargas Posted July 26, 2022 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2022 Runoffs should happen the day after. I've spent decades fine tuning my body for a maximum of 3.5 passes a day.
