Baller ScottScott Posted April 3, 2022 Baller Share Posted April 3, 2022 If you've ever skied with Jodi Fisher, you have put A LOT of thought into gate width.
Baller 6balls Posted April 3, 2022 Baller Share Posted April 3, 2022 Get uncomfortable--get the hell up on the boat. Of all the technical stuff we discuss this is a relatively easy, yet uncomfortable change. Just do it!
Baller ski6jones Posted April 3, 2022 Baller Share Posted April 3, 2022 I have been coached on this numerous times, always ski better when I do it, and frequently back slide into a narrower gate. I REALLY struggled skiing this spring. Getting coaching now and this was what we started with. The wider gate fixed numerous problems Instantly.. Baller PatM Posted April 3, 2022 Baller Share Posted April 3, 2022 I know I should focus more on it
Baller keithh2oskier Posted April 3, 2022 Baller Share Posted April 3, 2022 I think I remember on the spraymakers podcast they said there really is no reason to not practice your gate everytime. That being said, I am not a smart man and don't do alot of thinkin'.
Baller RGilmore Posted April 3, 2022 Baller Share Posted April 3, 2022 I spend about 3 seconds thinking about my pullout, and then about an additional 3 seconds thinking about my glide. So, about six seconds total. However, I repeat that sequence around 15 to 20 times per ski day. Technically, that's up to two minutes per day, 4 to 6 days a week. So, over a season, it really starts to add up. As former congressman Everett Dirksen, R-IL once said, "A billion dollars here, a billion dollars there. Pretty soon we'll be talking real money."
