I wear small or medium size gloves, depending on the brand, so I have smallish hands but not tiny, and I use a .940 diameter handle. I've sort of found the opposite to be true, in that the smaller diameter allows me to hold the handle more in my fingers than my palm, which then reduces issues with callouses.
