Baller LoopSki Posted October 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted October 24, 2021 I’m hoping to heal in time fir next season and treat myself to a brand new ski. I haven’t had a current year ski in a long time as I buy used. Even though 34 is my top speed, I rather ski at 32 now. Don’t ski tournaments anymore so who cares. I liked what I read on the other thread how the c85 is forgiving and less effort. On their site , only two choices for speed. Anyone ski one at 32? Baller ALPJr Posted October 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted October 24, 2021 My friend is on one at 30mph, mens 9. He loves it.
Baller keithh2oskier Posted October 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted October 24, 2021 What's interesting is on their website, they only have a LFF option for 34 mph
Baller dbutcher Posted October 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted October 24, 2021 @ALPJr What size C85 is your friend on, what does he weigh, and what line lengths does he ski? Thanks.
Baller ALPJr Posted October 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted October 24, 2021 ~170 ish on a medium. I thought he may do better with a large but he’s happy and gets deep into -35.
Baller_ lpskier Posted October 24, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted October 24, 2021 I ski 32 on a large C85. Men 7, 185. I’ve turned four ball at -38 twice in a week and I find it hard to miss a -35. I think the ski is fantastic at 32 mph. Lpskier
Baller rfa Posted October 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted October 24, 2021 @lpskier, hey John, have been curious as to how you like and are skiing at 32mph...that is awesome my friend. Now that you are M7, I will have to find tournaments you don't participate...
Baller chris55 Posted October 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted October 24, 2021 @lpskier just a question, what about the Lapoint ski vs C85 ?
Baller_ lpskier Posted October 24, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted October 24, 2021 @chris55 As silly as it sounds considering where I ski, I have not skied on a LaPoint. I ski on 68’s (obviously excepting Denali) and KLP didn’t have 68’s available until this spring, after I had settled on a ski for the season (Radar Vapor Pro). I planned to try the LaPoint, the new Vapor and the LaPoint after Nationals, but @adamhcaldwell got me on a Denali and I immediately loved it. I still would like to ride the LaPoint but I’m sticking with the Denali. Lpskier
Baller_ RichardDoane Posted October 24, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted October 24, 2021 I tore a hip muscle in late August, and had to take about 3 weeks off, when I started skiing again I could still feel it so decided to just stay at 30 and 32 mph and channel my inner M7/M8. My c85 is a Medium and I'm 175#. At a tournament in late September I stayed at 30 mph just for fun, and ran 5 at -38. My final event at 32 was 3 at -38 at Imperial. I think with some more practice I could adapt to 32 mph as it's a little different than 34. The ski does well at all speeds/length is the bottom line. Baller Beezer Posted October 25, 2021 Baller Share Posted October 25, 2021 I’m 155# and on a small. I ski to 34 and spend a lot of time at 32 and 33 sometimes down to 30 and 31 if i need to slow down a lot. My c85 is the easiest to adapt to speed of the skis i have. Baller_ RichardDoane Posted October 25, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted October 25, 2021 on a dare, one of my opening passes at Imperial was 28-15, which the c85 handled nicely, then it was a bunch of "opt up" to continue at 32-
Industry Professional Adam Caldwell Posted October 25, 2021 Industry Professional Share Posted October 25, 2021 I have been blown away by this skis performance all the way down to 26mph/15off with some older 60+ skiers. I honestly had no clue it would be any good down at slower speeds, but we're continuing to be enlightened every day.
Baller Lolocharp Posted October 26, 2021 Baller Share Posted October 26, 2021 I see on the Denali website that you can now choose the speed when placing the order, are there different nuances of the c85 for different speeds now?
