Hk196
I want to add a subwoofer to my 2020 Ski Nautique. Is there any experience? Where is the best place to mount? Can I put screws through the floor? What kind of subwoofer would you recomment? Lot of questions...
Baller Clydesdale Posted January 10, 2021 Baller Share Posted January 10, 2021 I think subwoofers are only compatible with wake boats. ?. (Sorry, couldn’t resist)
Baller_ Rednucleus Posted January 10, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted January 10, 2021 I believe adding a subwoofer to your 2020 voids your warranty.
Baller dchristman Posted January 10, 2021 Baller Share Posted January 10, 2021 I don't think the micro-tuners were designed to drive a subwoofer.
Baller oldjeep Posted January 10, 2021 Baller Share Posted January 10, 2021 Most boats the factory sub is under the helm. Fine if you are short, but seems like a dumb place for it.
Baller LoopSki Posted January 10, 2021 Baller Share Posted January 10, 2021 The 90’s called. They want your subwoofer back.
Baller oldjeep Posted January 10, 2021 Baller Share Posted January 10, 2021 Dunno about that. Standard feature on most mid to upper trim cars and trucks these days. They do tend to be a lot smaller now. The one on my wife's infinity system is maybe 6 inches.
Baller jjackkrash Posted January 10, 2021 Baller Share Posted January 10, 2021 Its gotta go in the bow, maybe cut an infinite baffle sub sideways into the helm where the left driver's side leg is or put a ported box up front (a JL 10W6 would go great with the stock in-boats) and run the port back through towards the driver's knees. There is a bunch of sh*t in the way otherwise i'd say IB sub coming in from the direction of the bow towards the drivers knees. I need to take a look at mine when I get a chance. In any case it needs to install or vent where the drivers legs are. I guess the other option would be to use the side locker but that would cost you ski storage. And ignore all the old folks in here who forgot how to rock.

Baller_ lpskier Posted January 11, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted January 11, 2021 I have a sub in my 2015 200. Installed under the bow, brackets screwed to the floor. Huge improvement in sound quality. I’ve had the same sub in two prior Nautiques. Lpskier
Baller hammerski Posted January 11, 2021 Baller Share Posted January 11, 2021 I had my dealer install one. Came out super clean. Separate powered sub box mounted up front, so it’s in line flush with the long bulkhead, speaker facing left, and doesn’t take up any storage. Sounds really good! Also mounted a sub level knob under the steering wheel for adjustment. Active Watersports Service department in Portland OR did the work.
Baller bojans Posted January 11, 2021 Baller Share Posted January 11, 2021 If you are not looking for tons of bass take a look at Bazooka marine line. You can get an all in one sub, enclosure and amp that is compact and provides decent sound.
Hk196
Thanx for the advice. Is it dangerous to drill through the floor? I think the tank is located under the floor in the front. The thing is that I want to install it in the bow. The question is how to mount it properly...
Baller BraceMaker Posted January 12, 2021 Baller Share Posted January 12, 2021 Drill bit stops help a lot when you don't know - start shallow and go gradually and you are usually OK - this is how I do bilge pumps and such. But the 3m body panel mounting tape is a great way to tape down things you want to maybe remove with little to no damage later.
