Members acmx
I used 41 Tails for years but the last couple pairs didn't hold up. I switched to the Rathbun amara gloves which were great, but they quit making them. Tried the MSN thin gloves but they tore my hands up. So looking for some gloves that will hold up, prefer amara but not against kevlar. Tell me what you like and why, thanks.
Baller skibrain Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 Radar inside out Kevlar. Better finger fit, and they wear pretty well - I’m able to get a couple seasons out of them.
Baller igkya Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 HO legends, have a similar feel to the MSN/Rathbun/other thin gloves, but a bit thicker.
Baller jjackkrash Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 Radar Vapor Boa inside out.
Baller TravisNW Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 HO Legend inside out!
Baller svxwilson Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 Any of the Radar inside out gloves, definitely by far my favorite.
Baller markn Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 Most durable, long lasting gloves I have ever found....Connelly Claw 3.0. They are kevlar and the palm is slightly thinker than most. More durability and easier on the hands.
Baller MDB1056 Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 +1 @markn post. Have tried them all and Connelly Claw 3.0 are the best I've ever found. Fit great, durable, none of the inside out bulk, great grip. Connelly really has improved their gloves with the 3rd gen Claw series. I had issues with others prior but again these have performed amazingly well vs all the others tried including HO and Radar. I'm a big fan........ Baller BraceMaker Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 I've got some inside out kevlar palmed Radars with the two separate wrist straps - I like the way these wrap because they span my wrist bone a bit lets me get them tighter. Baller vtjc Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 I am using the HO Legend, I recently tried the MSN gloves but went back to HO Legend. I tried Radar and HO inside out gloves with poor results for me.
Baller Skoot1123 Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 I think it all depends on hand size and other factors (finger length, big fingers or thin fingers, etc). For me the inside out gloves are a bit too wide and have some slop in the palm (even with the BOA). For this season I went and got some of the new HO 41 tails. I actually went another size smaller (xs) than previous glove sizes as the ax’s was very snug in my palm. One of the main goals in finding the right glove is to minimize the amount of slip between the glove and your hand. This will minimize blisters and give you the best grip on the handle. Baller Andre Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 I'm using MSN for the last 5 years but curious as to why ''...they tore my hands up.'' My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!
Baller BugHunter Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 Stealth gloves, the heavy kind. Seven months of heavy use (shooting for 5 days a week) and no sign of wear.
Members acmx
@Andre guess the MSN were too thin, I need more padding
Members acmx
@markn @MDB1056 did you have any problem with sizing on the Claw 3.0? I think I read some reviews that people couldn't get their hand in the XL
Members acmx
@BugHunter wow that's impressive, I think @Horton likes them too. How does sizing run?
albertabrad
+1 for Stealth gloves w/ kevlar; hold up very well, comfortable fit.
Baller markn Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 @acmx no problem with sizing. You know what they say about big hands......big gloves! Sizing has been very consistent as each pair fits the same. Have used 41 tails and have gone back and forth with L and XL. Claws L fit perfectly and retain the sizing even after heavy use. Baller MDB1056 Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 @acmx - no problems with sizing of Claw 3 either, but I'm a medium.
Baller Dacon62 Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 Radar inside out boa gloves. Wear well, fit well and good grip. 41 tail gloves the palm Velcro always blew off from deep water starts. Never an issue with the Radar Boa, dial in your tension level. Baller Keith_Menard Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 I just want my original radar boas to be made again...can't find an inside out that goes feel like wearing a baggie
Baller WoodySkier Posted July 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 30, 2020 Radar Boa K, literally the best gloves ever made. I’ve been using a pair for 2 full seasons, and they are still great. I used to go thru 2 pairs a season. The boa is awesome, you can tighten down between passes and really cinch them down.
Baller dlradar18 Posted July 31, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 31, 2020 Masterline K Palm Curves and the HO 41 tail are decent. Haven't tried anything else in a long time though.
Baller skihart Posted July 31, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 31, 2020 Another vote for Stealth gloves. Like you I had the red 41 tails and loved them but they changed them. Have been skiing with the black stealth Kevlar ones for a couple of years and they are great. Very durable. Will last me an entire season.
Baller Justin_C Posted July 31, 2020 Baller Share Posted July 31, 2020 I'm surprised there's not more love here for the Miami Nautique gloves. That's what I'm using now. I used to use Straightlines gloves and really liked them but their quality seemed to start dropping (stitching, mainly). I like the Miami Nautiques. They're certainly thinner than others but I find they grip well and I'm on my second season with them. My only complaint is the Velcro. I'm always pushing it back down and usually if I crash all of the Velcro comes undone. Not a big deal. I usually have it fixed by the time my wife decides it's still worth it to have me around the house and comes back and gets me (some days this is a longer internal debate than others).
