Baller_ MISkier Posted May 6, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted May 6, 2020 The landing is the worst part, but the driving is no picnic, either. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.

Baller Cooper_Trelawney Posted May 6, 2020 Baller Share Posted May 6, 2020 Lord knows I loved jumping. I thought waterski jumping was the most exciting and fun event. I think I would have given this ramp a very short side-angled plop over for the fun of it before re-anchoring it. Someone in another thread suggested @Horton should pick up jumping again. I haven't jumped in a tournament since '97 nationals and that was on 74" jumpers and hand-throttled driving. I have no idea how to jump now with speed control, giant skis, etc. but I bet it would be just as fun! I just don't think my 52 yr old body can do what it did in my 20s... Baller klindy Posted May 6, 2020 Baller Share Posted May 6, 2020 Looks like it could be Whitestone and perhaps it's turned to reduce backwash off the ramp for slalom or an anchor line broke.
Baller MattP Posted May 6, 2020 Baller Share Posted May 6, 2020 For sure Whitestone with a broken anchor line during the cold months.
Baller lottawatta Posted May 6, 2020 Baller Share Posted May 6, 2020 What jumper doesn't like the ramp to be a little "open" with a headwind out of the south?
Baller dbaconaz Posted May 6, 2020 Baller Share Posted May 6, 2020 looks like you will always have a headwind!!
Baller Craig Posted May 6, 2020 Baller Share Posted May 6, 2020 That is Whitestone; I lived near there and skied there for a few years. We had occasional issues with beavers in the colder months. For whatever reason they liked to chew through the anchor lines. Can't trust a beaver... Great place, wish I could visit more often. I assure you the ramp is normally pointing in the appropriate direction and it is a very nice place to jump, I have seen at least one state record set on that ramp. If you want to own the property adjacent to that jump, let me know. https://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Real_Estate&postid=52718
