Baller PatM Posted October 14, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 14, 2019 Cool gadget, but even better skiing spot. Where is that you were skiing? NOT Webster Lake
Baller ScottScott Posted October 16, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 16, 2019 Are you LFF with rope to the left for startup, or is your grip backward? Great site!!!! Always curious about cross course speed. What line lenth?

Baller Tom351 Posted October 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 17, 2019 GoPro (Hero5 and above) seems to have a faster data logging rate- and combined with Dashware you can customize gauges: (this is from a Hero6 - skiing 31mph as you can see in the speed reading before gates)
Baller Stevie Boy Posted October 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 17, 2019 @"Keith Menard" I am RFF and start with the ski on my right, but if you are RFF, you are holding the handle the wrong way, your right hand should be over the top and your left hand undeneath. Chris Taylor
@Stevie Boy why is that with the hands? I am a RFF and hold the handle like this. I have tried the "correct" way and it is not comfortable at all.
Baller Stevie Boy Posted October 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 17, 2019 @Chris Taylor what ever works for you, but it,s not the norm
Baller Cnewbert Posted October 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 17, 2019 @Stevie Boy" I think we can all agree that Regina is RFF and likely knows what is the correct hand position on the handle:
Baller Cnewbert Posted October 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 17, 2019 Terry Winter, RFF:
Baller Stevie Boy Posted October 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 17, 2019 @Cnewbert yep turn that handle flat with your hands out in front of you and you have your right hand gripping over the top and the left hand gripping from underneath just like I said. Whats your point ?
Baller Cnewbert Posted October 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 17, 2019 Okay, @Stevie Boy, we’re talking about the same thing, but from different perspectives... handle vertical the left hand is on top, right hand is underneath (the left hand) on RFF. Handle horizontal and the left hand is an underhand grip and right hand is an overhand grip. Agreed. Without referencing you meant grip, your wording was ambiguous and I misunderstood your meaning. All is well!
Baller Stevie Boy Posted October 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 17, 2019 Np could be confusing if the handle was vertical you could say right hand on the bottom and left hand on the top, quite a few things in water sking can be easily interpreted the wrong way. Vertical or horizontal in this case would make a difference, I should of been more precise with my grammar. It,s easy to see how people could end up with the wrong grip, I am not sure if there is a good reason for different grip for Lff or Rff , or is it just a case of what feels right. It,s a bit like the Deep Water Start most Rff have the line on the left of the ski , I struggle with that and have to have my line on the right of the ski. Baller Keith_Menard Posted October 17, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted October 17, 2019 I am LFF...always started with the rope to the left.
Baller Cnewbert Posted October 17, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 17, 2019 @stevie boy, I was always told to use a baseball grip. Well, being right handed I then put my right hand on the top of the handle (when vertical) and my left hand on the bottom just like I would with a baseball bat. But I’m also a goofy foot (RFF). It was some time before I came to realize I had my grip reversed. I needed to hold the handle like a left handed batter. The first couple. times after changing it, it felt totally weird. But in very short order it felt just fine.
