Baller ski6jones Posted July 26, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2019 Why would you need an engine that big in a ski tug?
Baller Keith_Menard Posted July 26, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2019 Correct me if I am wrong...but that is the small block 454...which is just insane!

Baller jjackkrash Posted July 26, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2019 I wonder when PCM gets access to the new GM 6.6l going in the HD trucks. That motor looks sick.
Baller Keith_Menard Posted July 26, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2019 @ski6jones when you have a REALLY short setup...and don't like having arms... Going to guess it is for the big stupid wave boats with big stupid sacks.
Administrators Horton Posted July 26, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 26, 2019 6.2 is already overkill for anything except for pro jump and high altitude. If that behemoth ends up in a tournament boat all I can say is.... Baller Ed_Johnson Posted July 26, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2019 Rumor is that they will put that in the new 2020 Mid-Engine Vette as a ZO6 Model rated at 750HP, then up it in the ZR1 Model to 1000HP....Now a 1000HP Nautique I can only dream of. Love my 409 !!!
Baller dave2ball Posted July 26, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2019 Then new motor will be an insane amount upgrade. A Nautique does not need all that power. The 6.2 is more then enough power. In fact many believe it it too much. It anyone gets this new motor please send me there fuel bill. Maybe more then the monthly cost of the boat. Baller ski6jones Posted July 26, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2019 @"Keith Menard" I get your point, but at $100k+ and more power than you could possibly use the new Nautiques with 6.2 is already borderline overkill. If money was no object .... then who knows.
Baller_ DW Posted July 27, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted July 27, 2019 Probably based on the LS7.
Baller chris55 Posted July 27, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 27, 2019 Do you think that with more power engine you will get more buoys ???
Baller oldjeep Posted July 27, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 27, 2019 If you are going to pay 100k for a ski boat, you may as well pay an extra 15k and get something awesome.
heinz57
think lsx gm crate motor. it will fit where a 5.3 or 6.0 or 6.2 will fit.
Baller jhughes Posted July 27, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 27, 2019 What do they mean by saying the DI motors have been “upgraded” to FW cooling- haven’t they always been FW cooled? My 5.3 has no AF, it’s lake water in the block.

Baller jhughes Posted July 27, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 27, 2019 Ah. RW vs FW. I wonder if, then, we should convert?
Baller skiinxs Posted July 28, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 28, 2019 I've never been in a car, truck, boat, mower, etc. and thought to myself, gee I wish I had less power:) I often wish I had less weight in a boat though, so the stronger, heavier motor would get a +1 for power and likely a -2 for weight. With the all aluminum 6.2 DI already having fantastic power with less weight than the old small block cast iron Chevy, I think that is actually the sweet spot.
