Baller Jetsetr Posted July 25, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2019 Flying into Minocqua this morning noticed a course set about 5-7 miles south of the airport...haven’t noticed this one before (maybe I’m usually too busy flying the plane!)...any info...looks like a great location. Coming up again tomorrow afternoon and Sunday as well...
Baller WIRiverRat Posted July 25, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2019 It belongs to camp Kawaga on lake Kawaugasaga. Its parts of the Minoqua chain. You could try contacting the camp and seeing if they will let you ski it.
Baller Jetsetr Posted July 25, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted July 25, 2019 One of my pax said it was on the Minocqua chain... Thanks for the info @WIRiverRat
Baller jhughes Posted July 25, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2019 Where I made my first full pass ever, 15 years ago now. Crazy. We skied the heck out of that course. Early mornings are pretty much the only option since the chain gets busy fast. We visited it last year and it was in tatters, so hopefully it's in better shape now. Baller Andre Posted July 25, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2019 Size of the turn bouys is scary in that video... My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!
Baller ShererSkier Posted July 25, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2019 @jhughes The course is way better than last year. They have all buoys this year and pre gates. The buoys are a little discolored though so it’s hard to pick up sometimes early am or late evening.
Baller PacMan Posted July 25, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2019 @shererskier beat me to it lol. They are fine with people using it as long as everyone is respectful of each other. Naturally if they are using it they have the priority but we've shared it with them a couple times.
Baller MDB1056 Posted July 25, 2019 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2019 If the site has been there forever, I skied State tournaments there back in early 70's
Baller Jetsetr Posted July 26, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted July 26, 2019 It looked pretty good from 3000ft and 200knots!!
Baller Jetsetr Posted July 26, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted July 26, 2019 I just got the CEO of our company back into skiing this year. Let him borrow my Butterknife (69)...loved it. He’s a big guy 6’3” 240 and said all the other skis they have at the lake house wore him out. He just bought a new Union and gear, think that will be a great ski for him. Their lake house is on the chain. He wants to try the course and when I splash mine will have him come up.
