Baller WBLskier Posted March 22, 2019 Baller Share Posted March 22, 2019 I have a small 13' Boston Whaler for my daughter. I want to build a small and simple canopy for the lift it sits on. I'm thinking of a 15'x8' rectangular frame with a custom canvas cover pulled taught inside it with grommets every foot and rope or bungee going around the frame every foot. I'm thinking no supports inside and just tip one side a few inches higher than the other so water drains. I'm trying to decide on what to use for the frame. A cheap and easy option would be galvanized threaded pipe. Does anyone have other ideas of what I could build the frame out of that won't cost too much? Or other ideas on how to do this. Thanks. Baller skimtb Posted March 22, 2019 Baller Share Posted March 22, 2019 Galvanized conduit. Lighter than pipe. Put a bend in the left to right top pieces to shed water. Use “tee” fittings to connect at the sides. Then do your tarp and bungee thing.
Baller BraceMaker Posted March 22, 2019 Baller Share Posted March 22, 2019 PVC will bow like crazy unless you use a ton of T and cross it
