Baller aspski Posted March 4, 2019 Baller Share Posted March 4, 2019 Anyone on here have a good recommendation for wake surf boards for our smaller ski boat surf waves? I would like to go ropeless, no plans to get air or do to many tricks. Really just looking for a board to cruise on once we are too tired from skiing all morning. I currently have a 2015 Liquid Force Chase sixer, can almost go ropeless but I am looking at selling that and upgrading. For reference it looks like a Ronix Koal longboard will do the trick behind a prostar
Administrators Horton Posted March 4, 2019 Administrators Share Posted March 4, 2019 I moved this to the Way Off Topic - Members only section because this is a skiing forum not a surfing forum. Baller aspski Posted March 5, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted March 5, 2019 Yes, not a surf forum but home to a large majority of direct drive ski boat owners. Just wondering what surf boards fellow DD owners have had success with.
Baller bko Posted March 5, 2019 Baller Share Posted March 5, 2019 To me it looks boat speed is slightly too fast - maybe try a little slower
Baller bigskieridaho Posted March 5, 2019 Baller Share Posted March 5, 2019 Go for the Hyperlite Shim. That’s what I have behind my Response and it surfs great. You should add a bag and surf attachment wedge. Quick and easy
Baller BraceMaker Posted March 5, 2019 Baller Share Posted March 5, 2019 @aspski it has to do with search engines. By hiding the topic when someone googles surf board recommendation your topic they don't get directed to ball of spray - the members still get to see your post. Baller theboardingschool Posted March 9, 2019 Baller Share Posted March 9, 2019 That Koal Classic Longboard is really fun! Be great for what you're looking to do. Get the 5'4"
Baller bbirlew Posted March 9, 2019 Baller Share Posted March 9, 2019 Hyperlite broadcast is a great board for smaller wakes as well as learning and cruising. Plenty of board to ride ropeless behind the Nautique with a couple sacks in it. Big enough to ride double with the kids, etc. Take the middle fin off and it loosens up for spins, etc, but you will likely need more than a direct drive wake for that. Baller aspski Posted March 14, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted March 14, 2019 @brooks Which other boards did you ride rope less behind the prostar?
Baller CollinSpradlin Posted March 14, 2019 Baller Share Posted March 14, 2019 But @Horton what if your surfer is named after a classic (industry changing) slalom ski? And I don't mean the Hovercraft... The Big Easy is built for exactly this. www.connellyskis.com/bigeasy
