Just stumbled upon this one...and I thought I had seen all the vintage Youtube tournament videos.

Lake Eloise at the Gardens is a lare public lake with plenty of boat traffic. I doubt if anyone ever got rerides for rollers.

1st skier the comment was "his knees were too bent" - don't think I have ever heard that said of a skier these days!

I skied that tournament in the 70's. Short lake, Hydrodyne twin rigs, moving water and wood skis. What's not to like?

 

Ha! I watched the slalom. I can clearly hear Eddie Roberts on the radio. Almost 40 years later, and Eddie is still involved with tournament skiing as a judge and TC. And he sounds the same.

A friend of mine who's cabin is in the same bay as mine is still running one of those boats but it's an '84. The boat runs well and is pretty nice to ski behind.
