Jetsetr
Which airport? Going to be in MSP Tuesday and RST Thursday with our 441...
Baller 6balls Posted December 10, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted December 10, 2018 @Jetsetr that would be lima juliet foxtrot...Litchfield MN about 70 west of MSP. I keep it in a heated hangar there...this was a trip home from a service apt and she frosted up after being out overnight for pick-up

Jetsetr
We will be at the Signature FBO...hope the dog brought his hearing protection...those direct drive Garrett’s ALWAYS have the ramp folks doing the Garrett salute (hands firmly clamped over ear muffs for additional noise reduction!!)... Baller eleeski Posted December 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 My Cessna won't fly in those conditions. 32 - C! is minimum for both skiing and flying. I got a trace of ice on my Cessna once. Terrifying! I did declare an emergency. Deviated to Bakersfield. @Horton wasn't there yet so that was a safe out. I thought it was cold here... You guys are tough. Eric
Baller thager Posted December 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 Garrett's transform fuel directly into noise! Sure loved the instant no lag response though.
Baller 6balls Posted December 11, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 @eleeski if you've never flow on a really cold, clear day you are missing out. Incredible prop, wing, engine performance and the air is usually butter smooth.
Baller dvskier Posted December 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 I got my private license in MA and remember this cold winter days. Mostly cloudy with low ceilings but the CAVU days were awesome, especially night flights.
Jetsetr
@thager YUP! Not QUITE as loud as the Garrett’s on a MU2 but close (different gearbox and longer prop on the Moo2). Was like glass flying this morning...heading back from MSP around 2... @eleeski was -9C here this morning not bad at all...
Baller eleeski Posted December 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 -9C! No wonder California is so crowded. CAVU and skiing in a shorty typical December. Excellent snow skiing a few hours away. We might have electric planes as our only option though... Eric
