Baller Hockdog Posted November 26, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 26, 2018 So, the City of Napa, CA. Does a Christmas parade every year, been doing it for 55 years now, and lots of the local groups and businesses enter floats and what have you in one of three categories...Theme, Music, or Lights. For whatever ungodly reason, our ski club decided to enter for fun and show some Lake spirit. The organizers had never heard of our club (we have only been around since 1958), but they let us enter and wished us luck. The following pics show the transformation of our 200 in the daylight hours to the epic brightly lit sleighboat we created. We took First Place in the Best Lights category.....not bad for a bunch of dumb buoy chasers!

Baller_ Wish Posted November 26, 2018 Baller_ Share Posted November 26, 2018 The 200 was AWSOME enough but to tow skiers was even better. How did you rig the skis?
Baller keithh2oskier Posted November 26, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 26, 2018 @Wish it looks like they are just long boards underneath.
Baller Kelvin Posted November 26, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 26, 2018 Great idea. More clubs should do this!! We did it a few years ago as part of the local fall festival parade as promotion for the Katy Ski Jam pro event. It was fun.
Baller Hockdog Posted November 26, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted November 26, 2018 @Wish, we had an old set of wooden doubles, stripped the bindings, found LED strip lights online and glued the strips along the edge of the skis. We also laced LED Xmas lights down the length of the ropes to the handles and the kids had a blast getting towed down Main St with the crowd going crazy with our spectacle. At one point the music cut out due to a blown power strip, the whole block of people gave out a big "oohhh", we reset the power strip and the crowd gave a big "woohoo" when the music kicked back on again. It really was fun time for the club members and the kids had a ball.
