Baller eleeski Posted October 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 22, 2018 Three today! Not done yet. But who counts? Eric
Baller igkya Posted October 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 22, 2018 180 and counting. Assuming a ride = a set ~ 6 passes?
Baller ski6jones Posted October 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 22, 2018 Not counting touneys, which would be about +45. Counting sets, not passes.
Baller Zman Posted October 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 22, 2018 My retirement gift, lots of skiing. But, should be better for all this water time.
Marco
Injured much of the season. Getting old sucks.
Baller ALPJr Posted October 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 22, 2018 Right around 50. Most in about 10 years.
Baller MISkier Posted October 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 22, 2018 85 sets in practice. 26 tournament rounds. I answered according to practice. Otherwise, I would be in the next range in the poll. Quote The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
dhofert
181 passes this year with 106 of those during my week at The Boarding School. 4 more during waterski for a cause, and the rest freeskiing.
Chef23
Not many for me but way better than last year. In the gym now trying to make next year back to normal which should be in the 75-100 range at least. @dhofert 106 rides in a week seems impossible.
Baller MISkier Posted October 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 22, 2018 @Chef23, I think he is counting passes, not sets. That is like 3-4 sets a day for a week. I’ve done 4 sets a day over 4 days in Florida, but it’s not easy. By that 4th day, my grip is just about shot. Quote The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears. Rpc29
2, one free ski one in the course. Been fighting a back injury since last year.
Baller Than_Bogan Posted October 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 22, 2018 Classic. I multiplied wrong. Should have been 101-150. Probably toward the lower end of that range this year.
Baller LeonL Posted October 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 22, 2018 55 practice sets and 13 tournament rounds. Down by about 30 from average.
dhofert
@chef23 I was talking passes not sets. 106 sets I think I would die.
Chef23
@dhofert I believe that in @Horton lingo a ride is a set not a pass. I have done 3 sets of slalom a day for 4 days and it almost destroyed my hands. I can do two a day for a week at ski school and survive. Tired but alive by the end of the week. Baller BrennanKMN Posted October 23, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 23, 2018 This season sucked for me. Started strong but then weather and work got in the way. Plus we had basically no fall. Pretty depressing...
Baller baja Posted October 23, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 23, 2018 Lowest set count for the season in 10 years. The Quarry in Corona was only open for April and May due to low water. Filled the void with trips to Martha's Vineyard, Groton Long Point, St. Helena, San Juan Islands, Baja and some sets at Shadow Lakes. Psyched up for snow ski season with an IKON Pass, snow tires, and time to kill.

keithh2oskier
Had a lot going on this year. Had a baby in April which limited late spring/early summer skiing... Although my wife did pull me the day before the due date so I really cant complain. Also ended my season in late August as our remodel project started to wrap up and I have been spending almost every weekend working on house projects. Hoping next year it will be easier to ski with a 1 year old and I wont have as many house projects.

Baller Skoot1123 Posted October 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 25, 2018 I had 64 sets this past summer - so over 384 passes in the course this year. Too bad we had to winterize.
Baller Shell Posted October 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 25, 2018 I've estimated I'm @ 250 passes when my season abruptly ended in Michigan. Snuck in a few more passes in earlier this month in GA and have a week coming up @ Ski Paradise, so my estimate is 300 or more passes. Just ask @RAWSki <3, his arms get tired just driving for me :*
Baller JackQ Posted October 25, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 25, 2018 About 100-115 sets, typically 7-10 passes a set. I tried to ski more than 2-3 sets in a week and my body would not allow.
sixball
Not a good year for me and my crew. Bad weather, Another small problem the dam owner pulled the plug on our lake. Had to pull the boat early. And a surgery I have been putting off.
Baller lpskier Posted October 26, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 26, 2018 I estimate 25 sets a month, which gives me around 150 year to date. I missed the first four months of the year following shoulder surgery and have two months left to go. I’m looking forward to four tournament sets at Trophy this weekend. Baller adkh2oskier Posted October 26, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 26, 2018 @lpskier You got me by a few. I got in 27 practice sets and got to 6 tournaments which is the most I've made in a number of yrs. (Thanks to Matts' Digger Dogs nearby) I did also get 51 ski rides down the lake and back just free skiing.
Baller lpskier Posted October 27, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 27, 2018 @adkh2oskier And you still beat me. Forget it, I’m taking up golf. Wait.... you play golf too. You play any tennis? Quote Lpskier
scorban2
I had just over 50. Was on track to get to 60+ as my best season ever, but the river has effectively been flooded since labor day, and harvest was early for us. And we've seen snow flakes already... Baller Jody_Seal Posted October 27, 2018 Baller Share Posted October 27, 2018 Was a rough year for me. Broke my ankle first week of july. Off of the ski for 12 weeks. Baller LeonL Posted November 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 2, 2018 Season end follow up. After winterizing my boat and checking on my mower maintenance, I realized I put more hours on my mower than my boat! Man, is that upside down? Baller RichardDoane Posted November 3, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 3, 2018 this wasn't much of a season for me, only 27 tournament rounds and very limited practice due to meniscus clean up surgeries on both knees (right knee in April, left in August) but all healed up now and planning to do better next season
Baller LeonL Posted November 3, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 3, 2018 @RichardDoane, I would think that 27 tournament rounds is a lot. If all were three rounders, that's 9 tournaments. How many do you do in a "normal" year?

sunnshinne
First time I've had regular-ish water access in my life. If I wasn't hooked before I am now. Met some incredible people too!
Baller RichardDoane Posted November 5, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 5, 2018 @LeonL I usually average about 15 tournaments each season, but it was the lack of practice that really affected my scores. There is no substitution for "on-water" time and the pull of the boat. You can exercise a ton in the gym or studio, but it is just not the same as those little colored balls coming at you....
