It should not have but did bother me to watch in this years Nationals a Women ( 5 or 6) "compete or really attend" the Nationals in slalom on her trick ski at 17mph. She qualified as she was in the top 5 of the 5 that attended her Regionals. Not sure if I just found that insulting or less. The ability to qualify for the Nationals by placing in the top 5 at Regionals originated before there were so many divisions and has corrupted the original intent.
