Baller Keith_Menard Posted August 27, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2018 I was looking at this pic and was wondering...which do people like more...window or no window?
Baller BraceMaker Posted August 27, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2018 Its additional nonsense. no window. sort of like I prefer flat top skis for ease of binding application.
Baller igkya Posted August 27, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2018 The Window is kinda cool. Wish I had one... I could see where I was skiing.
Baller_ lpskier Posted August 27, 2018 Baller_ Share Posted August 27, 2018 Is there s design function to the “window,” or is it just aesthetics? It’s obvious you live in the Northeast. There’s a spot of rust just behind your door. Damn road salt. Lpskier
Baller_ The_MS Posted August 27, 2018 Baller_ Share Posted August 27, 2018 Which one skies better? That is all that matters
Baller Keith_Menard Posted August 27, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted August 27, 2018 I have to say, I love the design with the window. My son did as well...which they put on the TRA. The one thing I don't like about it is when I get tired and out of position on my deep water starts, it will shoot water directly into my nose...every damned time. Two equal skis though...I would still choose the window. @lpskier Yup...Massachusetts. Damn truck has 218,000 miles, I have replaced almost nothing in the truck outside of normal maintenance. But MA winters are takings it's toll :(
Baller jerrym Posted August 27, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2018 I peek through my window at every 1 ball. Why do it the easy way??
Baller Chef23 Posted August 27, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2018 If it is just aesthetics I would say no window. If it improves performance window. I had a 16 (or maybe 15 the blue one) and never had any issue with water shooting through it but I get up with one foot in.
Baller skibrain Posted August 27, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2018 Kind of like portholes on a Buick. Non-functional gimmick (and I had a ‘17 Vapor for a while). My towel would snag on it when wiping down the ski. I told my ski buddy that it decreased tip-rise by venting the low pressure area that forms just behind the ski tip. He totally bought the story. Baller Keith_Menard Posted August 28, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted August 28, 2018 @skibrain portholes on the buick were funny....because it's a buick. A functional ram air intake on a classic muscle car was cool...because it was a muscle car. I would say the vapor is more like a Ford GT (I swear they painted the 2016 like one!) than a Buick LeSabre :)
Baller skibrain Posted August 28, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 28, 2018 @"Keith Menard" Ok, I guess a Buick GS stage 2 escaped getting the porthole/vent ports on the front fenders. Ford GT whatever, with a front hood scoop (it's mid-engine, get the point?).
