Baller MDB1056 Posted August 23, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2018 Feedback last week from ballers was that YES - having rear boot straight could be contributor to my knee issue that came up. Then discussion on rotation vs cant. Rotation makes sense to me (open position). Question of how much ? Moving as far as I can to the open position still only moves a little as straight the screws are in the middle of the slot already . Going to try it that way to start but looking for any input here from others in double boots. Thanks as always.
Baller Jordan Posted August 23, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2018 I think that the purpose of rotating the rear boot is to get into a more natural alignment, so it depends on your physiology. If you are open in a natural stance then more is better, etc.
Baller dbutcher Posted August 23, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2018 I rotate my back boot so that it puts my foot in the position it would naturally be in if I were using a rear toe piece. Of course you don't want to hang the plate off the ski.
Baller Zman Posted August 23, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2018 I can't help because I rotate my rear boot to a little closed position. It helps me not be as bow legged on my onside cut. Some may say that is not 'natural' but it feels good to me..
Baller DangerBoy Posted August 23, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2018 I've always rotated my rear binding as far as it can go and it works well for me. It's just a much more natural and comfortable position to be in. At least for me it is. I say go for it and crank it as far as you can which will probably only be a few degrees. You might find it helps your turning a little bit. I think it helped mine but I only free ski so it's hard to quantify how much.

Baller MDB1056 Posted August 23, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted August 23, 2018 Thanks to all . Have it full open. Will be back out tomorrow and give it a ride. @Zman - hey whatever works for you . Would have lost money on the bet of rotating closed but now I know it's out there! Thanks again . Will give an update in the next couple of days
Baller Andre Posted August 23, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2018 Full open rotation on my RTP this year,no more knee pain in my back leg ! My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!
Baller A_B Posted August 24, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 24, 2018 There is a limit due to plates on the rotation. I bounce back and forth between straight and about half as far as my Radar boot on the Sequence plate will allow. I don’t notice much difference. Baller ballsohard Posted August 24, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 24, 2018 I have my rear boot (an HRT) rotated as much as the plate will allow and this is very comfortable. Seems to allow me to feel stronger and more balanced on my ski.
