Baller Mrs_MS Posted August 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 2, 2018 Regina .....and she’s short like me!!! Lord knows what an extra 4-5 foot reach can do!!! & 3 event skier!!! Nate for the boys!
Baller klindy Posted August 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 2, 2018 Give Regina a 6' handle and set up a head-to-head with Nate. Might be fun to watch!
Baller Drago Posted August 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 2, 2018 Adding rope isn’t the same! How about this: give her 1’ -tall plates under her bindings
Baller klindy Posted August 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 2, 2018 @Drago I understand but its an approximation and still would be an interesting "Bobby Riggs vs Billy Jean" event
Driggski
If slalom specialists are in the running, you have to also put jump specialists on the ballot. Jacinta hasn't lost a pro event in something like 5 years and Freddy has, I think, 13 Masters titles (one shy of AM if I'm not mistaken)... worth an argument for GOAT at least. Baller ballsohard Posted August 2, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted August 2, 2018 Let's talk slalom, all time. I'm interested in some of the dudes from a long time ago that were mentioned.
Baller Mrs_MS Posted August 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 2, 2018 Well Then it’s Andy Mapple...hands down!!!
Baller B_S Posted August 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 2, 2018 @ballsohard if you're talking slalom, there are many greats, but only 1 GOAT, and that is undeniably Andy Mapple. If Nate stays healthy and continues his trajectory, he has a shot at replacing him.
Elite Skier ColeGiacopuzzi Posted August 2, 2018 Elite Skier Share Posted August 2, 2018 I still believe that @twhisper has monkey arms forget the numbers..I'm 6 feet with a 6 foot 4 reach and I believe he still has longer arms than me! Baller MickeyThompson Posted August 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 2, 2018 Is it not true that Nate has ran more -41 than everyone else combined? If yes that’s a strong statement.
Baller ballsohard Posted August 2, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted August 2, 2018 I feel like Nater just wins at a torrid pace, hard to be better.
Baller slow Posted August 3, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 3, 2018 I would be interested in seeing Andy and Nate at their peaks with today’s skis.
Baller GaryWilkinson Posted August 3, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 3, 2018 Nate for slalom present day. Andy is still the GOAT with Nate in the GOAT convo if he keeps it up And remember when?,... was it Wayne Grimditch competed in the Superstars made for TV event? Baller BraceMaker Posted August 3, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 3, 2018 Or if Mapple was in todays environment of record capable slalom lakes and tournament speed control on modern skis.... Even is retirement was solid 41s.
ToddF
This would be easy to figure out, just take the three individual event rankings, marks or even event bests. add them up and divide by three the person with the lowest number wins the best skier in the world trophy. I believe that Regina is probably the greatest and most dominant female skier ever but, @horton if you took Regina's jump distance, trick point totals and made her ski at 36 she wouldn't be that high up on the list. So, if we qualify the question, yes she could easily be the best skier if we quantify the question no she isn't close at all
