Thanks guys. I needed to put a safety kit together quickly and your input was very helpful. Even better, we didn’t need it once today.

 

Lots of great skiing at LaPoint Ski Park’s April Record. Best part of the day, though, was Ty Oppenlander taking a ski ride. Absolutely awesome!

Any precautions you should take before using an AED near water or on a wet person ?

 

Sidenote:Pulling an inconscious skier back in the boat by yourself must not be an easy task if no spotter...

My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!

You can't use the AED while the person is still in the water. As with any AED use, the responders and person administering the AED must be clear of the patient while the shock is delivered. That includes making sure you are not standing in a puddle of water which is also touching the patient. There is no problem for the patient themselves to be wet, but the bystanders must not be positioned in any manner that provides conductivity to the patient.

The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
