Baller swc5150 Posted February 16, 2018 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 Paragon This is one heck of a find!! Somebody buy this before I risk divorce over it!
Baller Orlando76 Posted February 16, 2018 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 A ‘97 Paragon?? Well that’s new to me. Didn’t know it was offered in 97.
Baller swc5150 Posted February 16, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 Manufactured in '97 too. This is a one-of-a-kind gem, wow.
Baller BraceMaker Posted February 16, 2018 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 I guess one was? Que the cheap ski tug thread, guess atleast some people will pony up for the $$$ boats.
Baller oldjeep Posted February 16, 2018 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 Pretty boat, but for 55K someone is going to have to be a major nautique fan.
Baller MuskokaKy Posted February 16, 2018 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 $55K?? are they on glue?
Baller MuskokaKy Posted February 16, 2018 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 @swc5150 its just a mid-life crisis...don't risk it you already have all the good toys!!!haha
Baller Orlando76 Posted February 16, 2018 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 55k is the average price for a Paragon. Last one I saw was listed for $60k. About as crazy as guys buying 196’s new in ~06 and such for ~$25-30k then 20 years later asking $25k.
Baller oldjeep Posted February 16, 2018 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 I think I'd take that 55K and buy a much nicer looking ChrisCraft
Baller andjules Posted February 16, 2018 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 Beautiful boat, although I always felt it needed more of antique split-style or a european-style windshield to really capture the wooden-boat vibe.
Baller swc5150 Posted February 16, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 I'd pay $55k for this boat, if my wife didn't just hang up on me after asking. @oldjeep We have a '56 Chris Craft Capri in the family, and it's a PITA. Over $75k in the latest restoration alone...not my money going into that pit fortunately. The Paragon's hull is fiberglass, so the only real wood is what you see. Administrators Horton Posted February 16, 2018 Administrators Share Posted February 16, 2018 You guys are smoking crack. It's just an ugly limited edition 196. Nautique makes a great product and a lot of them are pretty but I got to say I've always thought the Paragon thing was silly. For $55,000 you can get a current year promo boat with a hundred fifty hours on it. Baller swc5150 Posted February 16, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 But the Paragon was never intended for the person buying a used promo boat either.

Baller swc5150 Posted February 16, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 This one may have been more, being '97 single run? I noticed it even has a '97 motor box, which no other Paragon obviously had. I want this boat bad, if it isn't obvious:(
Baller Dacon62 Posted February 16, 2018 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 97 hull with 96 top? Or 96 hull and top built in 97??
Baller_ lpskier Posted February 16, 2018 Baller_ Share Posted February 16, 2018 The first Paragon made is on Lake Placid, NY. I rarely see it out and never pulling a skier. Come to think of it, I’ve never seen it on plane. Lpskier
Baller swc5150 Posted February 16, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 @Dacon62 '96 hull and deck built in '
Baller swc5150 Posted February 16, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 @lpskier Exactly what I'd expect. That's what I'd do with one. The King of Jordan bought 2 of them back in the day, and I'm guessing he was not a baller (interesting nugget).
Baller oldjeep Posted February 16, 2018 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 Well that accounts for 4 of the 11 ;) Makes me wonder if the first 10 have plaques that say 1 of 1, 2 of 2, 3 of 3, etc
Administrators Horton Posted February 16, 2018 Administrators Share Posted February 16, 2018 @swc5150 The King Of Jordan was into skiing of some sort.... Baller swc5150 Posted February 16, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 Ah another interesting nugget. One Paragon for a tug, and one for the collection? ;)
Baller Orlando76 Posted February 16, 2018 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 Definitely a 90-93 deck and hull. One Paragon is in a living room in Tampa. One is in Chicago/Midwest area, it’s the only wineberry colored one it’s probably the only Paragon ever used for any significant skiing. Always heard 2 went overseas to Dubai area. I’m wanting to say 12 were built, not 11. Maybe 11 green and the red makes 12. They were also offered in blue and white but never built. And there’s also a green imitation Paragon in Arizona area built on a 94 Hull. The fella did a great job but not sure if he ever got wood on the windshield squared away. Baller swc5150 Posted February 16, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted February 16, 2018 My buddy owned the one in Chicago, the only wine colored boat. I think he kicks himself for selling it.
