Administrators Horton Posted November 13, 2017 Administrators Share Posted November 13, 2017 I took ride 251 today. I am pretty sure that is the most rides I have taken in one year as an adult. How much did you ski this year? Baller_ MISkier Posted November 13, 2017 Baller_ Share Posted November 13, 2017 The usual. About 100 sets. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Baller ALPJr Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 44 sets. This was the most sets and first injury free season in many years. I attribute it to two changes, training at 32 mph (yeah ZBS), and a new ski and boots.
Baller braindamage Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 More than usual, but I didn't keep a count.

Baller Chef23 Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 Less than 15 rides including riding jumpers. A low for me since I started skiing again about 12 years ago. If I can figure out my back issues next year will be better.

Baller Orlando76 Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 Worst year since I began skiing. Probably 40 sets. Biggest reason for decline is no opportunity to take my 2 year old son with me.

Baller Andre Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 140 sets from mid may to late october with absolutely no improvement whatsoever. Skiing with an extra 20 lbs didn t help at all. Gonna blame homebrewing for this one... My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance! dhofert
142 rides. All free skiing 3-4 min each. April 1st through October 21st.
Baller JAG Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 More than ever. At least four sets on the weekends and once, twice a week, free skiing about 12 miles around the lake after work. The best of those mid week sets was meeting up with my buddy, waiting, watching for the traffic to die after dinner and having glass to ourselves. We always followed it up with a light dinner, some drinks and a toast to appreciating how lucky we are.
Baller LZywicki1 Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 178 sets and possibly 1 more if I go to the polar bear ski. Larry -----<|

Baller RazorRoss3 Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 I'm still skiing, took two sets yesterday morning and was into 35 on them both. The joy of a dry suit and a state that doesn't freeze over
HighAltitude
64 sets in the course. Maybe a few more before we set the course in April. Baller brody Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 15 sets, record low, back shut me down. Focused on coaching friends and their kids. I taught 6 Kids to ski this summer and 1 to drop a ski and shortly after to get up on 1.
Baller Fam-man Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 Not enough. Was slow getting the course in due to wind, availability of partners and family schedule. Never really got going due to water level issues, dry summer meant extra irrigation and drastically low lake levels, moved course twice and pulled it early. See what next year brings. Baller Ski_Dad Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 I estimate about 55-60 free ski sessions. Best year ever !
Baller fizer Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 I think I took about 250 rides this year. I think 36 of those were tournament rides. Probably about 25% slalom, 30% jump, 45% trick.....yet I still suck at trick the most.
Baller rico Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 I ran my 154th set (including tournaments) on Saturday. It was pretty special since it was at the BOS headquarters and Rob Muhlitner was driving while Richelle was coaching, while Horton was watching the kids... Baller ESPNSkier Posted November 14, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 14, 2017 Very little and gave back all of the progress I made last year. Got hurt in December and did not ski again until May, then never could regain my form and skied progressively worse until I quit skiing out of frustration in July. Hope to get back in the saddle this week.

Baller bishop8950 Posted November 14, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 14, 2017 I don’t keep records but bet I am around 200 sets. Given they were all min 80 miles from my house I am happy with that. @Horton since you run this website for a living and reside 20 feet from the shore of a beautiful ski lake in California you should be getting 250 rides a year. If you stay healthy in 2018 I want to see 300. On a different note, I will be going by this weekend and may bring my ski along if you are around. Then I can be ~201 rides this year
Baller_ RichardDoane Posted November 14, 2017 Baller_ Share Posted November 14, 2017 the ranking list says 41 tournament rounds for me in the past 12 months, add maybe 30 practice rides for a total of less than 75 for the season, kind of few but every ride was a good time
Baller bishop8950 Posted November 14, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 14, 2017 @RichardDoane I wonder how many people ski more rides in tournaments than practice!?
Baller_ RichardDoane Posted November 14, 2017 Baller_ Share Posted November 14, 2017 @bishop8950 - this season I had too many things going on, which really cut into my practice time, but tournament weekends are sacred IMO and are not to be missed
Baller bigskieridaho Posted November 14, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 14, 2017 I would say I had around 50 sets without actually counting. 14 of them being in a tournament. Probably have more if it wasn’t such a busy summer.
Baller Skoot1123 Posted November 14, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 14, 2017 This was a great year for me in terms of number of ski rides - we got in 62 days of skiing. Sets ranged from 6-14 passes each. Different weather types encountered were glass to whitecaps and cold to hot water. Enjoyed every minute of it
Baller LeonL Posted November 15, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 15, 2017 84 sets and that's about average for me.
Baller Ilivetoski Posted November 15, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 15, 2017 I don't keep records but I ski about 5 months a year, 4-5 days a week, 2-3 sets a day, so about 225 sets
Baller ShererSkier Posted November 15, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 15, 2017 Probably around 50 passes through a course but a lot of open water skiing. Sadly haven’t been through a course since the last week of July. Got busy and didn’t have too many opportunities to set up our course. Wish I had a permanent on the lake! Baller gsm_peter Posted November 15, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 15, 2017 Approx: 15 free ski sets 50 Course sets 20 trick sets. Below plan. Much wind and 2 times rib rehab. Progress: More stable tricks. Smoother, earlier better 30-31mph rides. Much worse, fewer 32 mph rides! Slighetly better 34 mph attempts.... Same pb for 4 seasons! Not so fun.... SkiGreatLakes
I'm guessing I'll finish around 300. Only take days off when mother nature doesn't cooperate (and when Muhlitner takes a day off). Looking like no days off in November. Going to be 80 degrees today and weather looks great through Thanksgiving.

Beastmode
29 tournaments - 83 tournament rounds 300+ practice sets only one injury this year! Skied over the rope and the handle hit the ankle bone Got to 3 @38’ a dozen times in practice and 4@38 four times. Didn’t hit my goal but learned a lot this year. Baller_ MISkier Posted November 16, 2017 Baller_ Share Posted November 16, 2017 @Beastmode, where do you get that scoring summary? Baller gt2003 Posted November 16, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 16, 2017 I didn't keep count. Skied all buoys, no free skiing. I'd like to change that next year. As others have said, NOT ENOUGH
Baller_ lpskier Posted November 16, 2017 Baller_ Share Posted November 16, 2017 According to “My Stats” on the USAWS website i had 53 tournament sets this year, 41 being slalom. I assume, though, that “this year” is the ski year, nationals to nationals. I hadn’t used that feature before. Thanks to @Beastmode for pointing it out!
