Baller DrBOB Posted June 6, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 6, 2017 Has anyone had problems with radar's competition ski ropes? I have been sent 2 that are unacceptably short and one of the guys at our lake got one that is much too long at all line lengths.... all ordered this year. Just want to know if this is a fluke or do I need to go elsewhere?
Baller MattP Posted June 6, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 6, 2017 @brbob MasterLine is the industry standard but Radar makes quality products lets see if @brooks or @eddie_roberts_jr can help you out.
Baller eddie_roberts_jr Posted June 6, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 6, 2017 If anyone has a rope that is out of tolerance we will certainly replace it. We will definitely be looking into it. Thanks for the heads up!
Baller Justin_C Posted June 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2017 So that's my problem! My rope is too short!
Baller Keith_Menard Posted June 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2017 @Justin_C ...you beat me to it! :)
Baller LeonL Posted June 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2017 Just to put things in perspective, I've purchased a lot of ropes that were in tolerance, but if they're intended to be used in tournaments I try to get them better than just in tolerance. I shoot for as close to actual as I can get. Most of the time I find that ropes are pretty consistent thru the loops, and can be brought in very close by adjusting the section between the 43 and the handle. Some ropes are just all over the place and need adjustments at every loop. I don't buy them a second time. Masterline is very good, are very close to actual almost all the time. 303Skier
I was at a tournament a few weeks ago in FL and two ropes from two different manufacturers were out of tolerance.
Baller Ralph Lee Posted June 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2017 Seems like a moot point to question radar products on BOS. Everyone on here knows they will go out of their way to take care of you if you have a legitimate complaint.
Baller aupatking Posted June 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2017 I really like my current Vapor rope (and love my 17 Vapor ski). Super quality and it's in tolerance. Did notice today that the 22 loop is actually the 28. Ran it anyway. I said I love my Vapor ski?
Baller LeonL Posted June 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2017 @aupatking what do mean "the 22 loop is actually the 28"? The colors are wrong? How is that super quality?
Baller mbabiash Posted June 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2017 @LeonL @aupatking skied with me yesterday in Wichita Kansas and I noticed that the marker sleave is on the wrong section of rope. 15 off marker is really on the 22 off section and so on down the line. Baller slow Posted June 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2017 I love radar products but just replacing it if it is out of tolerance really isn't a solution. You need to get it right the first time or you go somewhere else.
Baller skihard Posted June 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2017 @slow - I have been using Radar products for years now and their customer service is second to none in this industry. I'm more than sure they do their due diligence in getting to the root of any issue they have with any of their products. Heck I have a buddy who's ski came apart well after he bought it and skied on it for a long time and they sent him a brand new upgrade at no cost and no questions asked. Companies like Radar aren't successful just because they replaced something - they fix the whole problem.
Baller Deanoski Posted June 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted June 7, 2017 I just got a new radar rope last week And it was spot on. I love radar products!
