2014 Response TXI Throttle Control

Does anyone know if there are replaceable parts inside the throttle assembly? Mine will not lock into neutral. It's like a spring broke. The button on the side won't pop out. I think it is a Malibu ZF Ski Command 1000. Any information would be appreciated.

Call Malibu and replace it

If I have to replace the whole assembly it's around $700. If that's the case it seems like a poor design on Malibu's part for what amounts to a release mechanism.

@OK_SKIER have you checked with Bakes online or Great Lakes skipper? There are a couple other places as well.

No, there are no parts that you can actually buy inside there. I bought a broken one a while back so that I'd have a few extra parts like the thumb button if I had the somewhat common button breaking issue. They are pretty tough to get apart into the components since they didn't seem to be designed to come all the way back apart.

One additional thought - your 2014 has a neutral button on it? That is weird. Some of the first versions had that button but the later ones like the one in my 2012 did not have it. (Looks like a button on mine but is just a plug)

 

You are only able to rev in neutral in mine by disconnecting the shift solenoid electrical connectors at the transmission.

What is the warranty period? Did 5 years start for 2015 models only?
