Baller LoopSki Posted March 21, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 21, 2017 Didn't have my boat this weekend. It turned out to be a nice day and decided to put my jet ski in and give the kids some rides. The water was so nice , glass calm and warm . It was killing me I had no boat. So I figured what the hell let's see if the jet ski can get me up. Could not believe it , it did. Not even a struggle. Took a ride up and back . Even got some turns in. At least got my fix for the day !

I can not make all the conversation on this site be about pure slalom skiing but there is a limit. Baller LoopSki Posted March 21, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted March 21, 2017 Don't care where you put it ! I'm just shocked that my Jetski was able to get me up from a deap water start and I was able to get my swerve on. Tracked ok too
I5boi
@LoopSki awesome that you are riding a standup. I wonder how many others there are that also ski?
Baller keithh2oskier Posted March 21, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 21, 2017 Are we talking about a stand-up or a larger sit-down? I know the sit downs have 2-300 HP now so its not surprising it could get someone up. But a stand-up is another issue all together.

Baller LoopSki Posted March 21, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted March 21, 2017 I do like the stand ups. Had an a 550 back in the day before I discovered skiing ! I have a sit down one now for the kids to enjoy with me. That's the one I skied behind. It worked in a pinch!
Baller igkya Posted March 22, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 22, 2017 Isn't calling a sit-down (wave runner) a jet ski, like calling a Bayliner a ski boat?
Baller oldjeep Posted March 22, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 22, 2017 No issue getting up behind my folks 215hp rxp. But if you cut it skips sideways.
Baller 6balls Posted March 22, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 22, 2017 Geez those sit down jet skis are like small boats with big HP. Have seen footers behind them no problem...shoot I've been passed by them in a 65 mph outboard.
Baller wtrskior Posted March 22, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 22, 2017 @Horton thats a mistake. Think about the crossover to skiing... Perhaps some of the keywords get picked up and some dunce PwC rider stumbles on this site? What is the harm in leaving it in the open? Why censor? Baller bigskieridaho Posted March 22, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 22, 2017 Yep I barefooted behind ours when I was in high school. Stand up off a kneeboard and go to town!
Baller escmanaze Posted March 27, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 27, 2017 @igkya Your understanding is fairly correct in a practical way of how many people use the words, but is incorrect in a purely technical fashion. Jet-ski is actually a trademarked name of Kawasaki. Waverunner is a trademarked name of Yamaha. So for the OP to say his Kawasaki Jet-ski when he is referring to a sit-down machine, yes he will confuse many, but technically is 100% correct. Baller LoopSki Posted March 28, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted March 28, 2017 We've enjoyed it. It's makes a nice break in between sets or if the lake is blown out.
