Baller_ Wish Posted March 12, 2017 Baller_ Share Posted March 12, 2017 So my buddy is looking for a trailer for his 196 2008. We have come across several inboard trailers but not CC spacific. Hard to know if it will fit and even harder to test and most want $$s before you drive away with it. So does anyone know the trailer specs needed for a 2008-ish 196. Bunk spacing, width/angle, width of uprights and so on. Heck, does anyone know of a used CC trailer?. Or has anyone bought a standard trailer of some kind and had it modified with specs? Thoughts..ideas..all welcome.
Baller skiinxs Posted March 12, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 12, 2017 I would bet Heritage can build you a new one. In my opinion their 196 trailer was one of the best if not the best, just like their 200 trailer is. I can get you contact information if you can't find it yourself. Baller_ Wish Posted March 12, 2017 Author Baller_ Share Posted March 12, 2017 Attempting to stay in a budget that probably does not include brand spanking new which I have no idea what that would cost. Sooo maybe. Any idea on cost @skiinxs
Baller jjackkrash Posted March 12, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 12, 2017 Invoice on the CTW trailer for my 200 was $4736, with tandem axles, nice wheels, electric/disc brakes, nice winch, swing away tongue, LED lights, nice jack stand, etc. I would be careful not getting a trailer built specifically for the 196--it might work--but the design on the bunks for inboards are pretty boat specific. Baller skiinxs Posted March 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 13, 2017 I don't want to quote prices for them, since I really don't know, but I am betting you wouldn't have to spend much more than 4K.
Baller bigskieridaho Posted March 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 13, 2017 @Wish some friends just got a trailer built by a company in Salt Lake and it was $3500. Nice trailer, can't remember the name....
Baller BCM Posted March 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 13, 2017 I was searching for my 98 about a year ago. I came across a few CC specific trailers on craigslist over a 3-4 month period.
Mikekk
I have a trailer for a 2004 cc 206 ski I will sale you $1000 but, it needs a axle. It is a Ramlin trailer.
Baller jhughes Posted March 14, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 14, 2017 Good luck. Buying a trailer is a PITA. The Ram-Lin on our 2000 totally rusted out so we were in this position a couple years ago. Know that even if you get a used one, it could be rotten or nearly there, not to mention brakes needing work, etc. Ended up having Ram-Lin build a brand new one. They are at least 4500.00 for a single axle but for that boat it's the right look and IMO there is no substitute for what Nautique should be sitting on (the 200 trailer is another story...). Alternatively I have friends who have also recently replaced their trailers using Trailmaster and were very happy with them. Boatmate is another alternative as well. Both should have patterns for your boat.
Baller adkh2oskier Posted March 14, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 14, 2017 FWIW I bought a 2005 196 a couple years ago and it came with an 07 Eagle trailer, seems to sit just fine on it.
Baller Kdinger838 Posted March 15, 2017 Baller Share Posted March 15, 2017 Heres a 2000 tsc1 on a mid 90s Malibu trailer. Most will fit on almost anything. Almost any trailer manufacturer will charge us as a dealer 2500-3000 for a trailer at cost. Call up boat dealers and see what's laying around.
