@Drago yeah I tried a couple of more passes that day but just couldn't do anything for some reason.

A few questions:

 

1. There had to be some sort of modification to the hitch to mount the ball. Either they welded the ball on or they drilled a hole and somehow tightened it with the nut inside the hitch. Either way, there was some significant tooling involved...more significant than probably would have been required to mount a receiver.

2. Where do the safety chains connect?

3. It must be a challenge to drive with something in tow, especially backing up. It seems the hitch would rotate around the bolt through the bumper and sway back and forth.

@DaveD, I actually do have some understanding of this. While installing a wall mount for a TV over the holidays, I was doing an incredible job and only had one issue getting the TV level. Almost had it figured out, too, until my wife ruined it by bringing the instructions over and pointing to the page on horizontal level adjustment.

Just had a nice snowstorm in Northern Wisconsin and saw this online. Unfortunately with 3ft of ice still and a fresh new foot of snow it might be a while until skiing. But I will be at Eden Lake in 3 days!!!!!!!
