Either they welded the ball on or they drilled a hole and somehow tightened it with the nut inside the hitch. Either way, there was some significant tooling involved...more significant than probably would have been required to mount a receiver. 2. Where do the safety chains connect? 3. It must be a challenge to drive with something in tow, especially backing up. It seems the hitch would rotate around the bolt through the bumper and sway back and forth. While installing a wall mount for a TV over the holidays, I was doing an incredible job and only had one issue getting the TV level. Almost had it figured out, too, until my wife ruined it by bringing the instructions over and pointing to the page on horizontal level adjustment. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
