Baller skidawg Posted August 6, 2016 Baller Share Posted August 6, 2016 :'( Very sad to say that the pterodactyl was taken out of action last night in a freak bike wreck getting ready for a kids Tri. My baby girl impaled her handle bars in her thigh...To terrifying for pics. So the top dog will have to miss Idaho this year for nationals. Big thanks to all my water ski family for their prayers and thoughts over the past 24hrs. #waterskifamilyisrealfamily.
Baller LeonL Posted August 6, 2016 Baller Share Posted August 6, 2016 Sorry to hear that @skidawg. I will pray for her fast and complete recovery.
Baller Andre Posted August 7, 2016 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2016 Sorry to read this. Hope she get well soon! My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!
Baller Chef23 Posted August 7, 2016 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2016 Bummer. Hope she heals quickly.
Baller gregy Posted August 7, 2016 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2016 Damn. Hope it heals quickly. Thigh is probably least dangerous place to get impaled as long as no arteries get damaged. I hear she's pretty tough. Hopefully it wasn't too traumatic.
Baller skidawg Posted August 7, 2016 Author Baller Share Posted August 7, 2016 @gregy - we are very blessed - the bar went in over an inch and missed the femoral artery by less than 1mm. I am absolutely terrified every time I think of this. She's doing well and should be chasing records very soon.
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 7, 2016 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2016 She's wayyyy tougher than me. I'd probably be on the sidelines for a year. On a side note, at the bmx training facility yesterday where we were having a clinic we checked every kid's bars to make sure there were good bar plugs. Baller ToddL Posted August 7, 2016 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2016 FWIW, @skidawg 's family is amazing. Faith and love are so abundant in them. In adversity, you see this prevail. I'm praying for continued healing and strength for Landrie.

Baller MAD11 Posted August 8, 2016 Baller Share Posted August 8, 2016 @skidawg we are sick about this. Glad she is going to be ok. She impressed me last week skiing at regionals. We were really proud to see her ski so well. Girl is awesome!
Baller rfa Posted August 8, 2016 Baller Share Posted August 8, 2016 Very sorry to hear. Best wishes to her and the whole family. I understand how you feel...my younger son had a different, but equally "terrifying" injury (broken femur through a bone tumor) when he was 11. This was 8 yrs ago and i am still "terrified" when i think about today...

Baller jimbrake Posted August 8, 2016 Baller Share Posted August 8, 2016 So sorry to hear @skidawg. Kids getting injured is the worst. Hope her spirits are up and she's looking forward to getting back on the water!
