Baller oldjeep Posted July 27, 2016 Baller Share Posted July 27, 2016 @east tx skier Like I said, there is one pole at the rear of my boat that is used when mooring. The Evo covers that I've seen for boats like mine use a hangtyte off the tower in the same general place. This is an Evo cover http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r169/AirJunky/Vride/20130521_181947_zpsb0f4b014.jpg And so is this (Big puddle is probably from using a bungie rather than a rope and not having the tongue tipped up - picture is to show the rope not so much the puddle) http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y463/PhishJY/Photos%20for%20TheMalibuCrew/IMG_0566_zps30ebc0c4.jpg http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y463/PhishJY/Photos%20for%20TheMalibuCrew/IMG_0487_zps57259038.jpg
Baller east tx skier Posted July 27, 2016 Baller Share Posted July 27, 2016 @MS Thanks for the clarification on that.
Baller east tx skier Posted July 28, 2016 Baller Share Posted July 28, 2016 @oldjeep Ah, I misread your earlier post. Yeah, no poles on mine. I wasn't aware that the evolution covers needed them. Yeah, mine doesn't pool and doesn't need poles, which is the main reason I went with it. As the fabric stretches over time, you can adjust the side tension by adjusting the hooks, which are velcroed to the cover. Very simple, but effective setup despite a portion of my boat's "bubble butt's" being exposed.
303Skier
Wanted to clear the water and say that Cory Anderson at Evolution Covers has nothing to do with Brent and what is going on with my Cover Sport cover and the damage to my boat. I've heard nothing but great things about Evolution Covers and Cory.
DGravelle
i had the exact same thing happen with the cover bleeding into my seats tried washing it off with magic eraser and several different mold and mildew products nothing worked. Like you I was very discouraged two weeks went by it was gone looks as good as new. hopefully yours ends up the same way, just kind of wanted to give you a little relief maybe and hopefully not a false sense of hope good luck
Baller paul Posted July 29, 2016 Baller Share Posted July 29, 2016 Why not sew in some fabric to stop the bleed (like what is used for extra reinforcement at the windshield) where your tarp contacts the upholstery . Do it in a light colorfast material and you should be good to go. Sounds like your relationship with the vendor is done but this is what I would have offered if I was the vendor. Baller DaveD Posted July 29, 2016 Baller Share Posted July 29, 2016 Sew a plastic film between the cloth and the cover to stop any volitiles from the vinyl getting to the cover.
303Skier
Finally got my money refunded and sent the cover back to Brent at Cover Sport. I contacted PayPal and filed a dispute. PayPal was great to work with and got my money back.
Baller MichaelGoodman Posted August 10, 2016 Baller Share Posted August 10, 2016 Did the stain ever go away?
303Skier
@MichaelGoodman The stain is slowly going away! :# I put my old silver/grey cover back on and have had zero problems!
Baller swc5150 Posted August 11, 2016 Baller Share Posted August 11, 2016 That's a bummer of a story. I've purchased 3 196 covers from Brent now, and he's been really nice, and the covers all great...and all black. Maybe our WI weather is more conducive to a black cover? 303Skier
@GBPackers1 about 2.5 weeks @swc5150 Yeah I'm not sure why the cover did that to my boat? Also not sure why Brent was so unprofessional? Glad you had a good experience with him!
