The Scuba stuff

Anyone try or know of scuba gloves or hoodie that may make cold water / air temps more tolerable. Not looking at setting any PBs so not concerned on hurting my performance. Looking at being comfortable without freezing my butt off. Having an unusually cold winter for Northern California standards.

@rodltg2 Have you tried the Camaro gloves? They also make a beanie, and while not a hoodie, would still provide some warmth.

Beanie is WARM but I have a hard time keeping it on during my starts. I'd recommend ordering a size smaller than what your head measures. I'm going to have to take mine and have them altered so they'll be ready to go in the spring!

scuba hoods work great. I have a cold water hood and it stays on and keeps me warm. Honestly though, I most often just use a fleece winter headband. keeps the ears warm and doesn't hold a lot of water. Hands are a different story. I can't keep them warm to save my life. Tried the camaro liners and still froze my hands in colder water/air.

Someone here used to cover the outside of their ski gloves with silicone I think to keep the wind off them when skiing. I don't remember who it was though.

@Horton I agree with you , but having a lake 20ft from my back door for the first time , makes it to tempting to jump in and ski !

I found scuba gloves with kevlar fingers and palms. They are not as supportive as waterski gloves, but work fine for winter skiing. I usually fill them with hot water

before jumping in and they work great.
