Baller 6balls Posted November 7, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 7, 2015 Nah market too small. After the broader recreational set here open floor plan, tower, open now. Will b pretty versatile family boat with broader market
dihrdskir
What's not to like. Plenty of space, power, fuel efficiency, if only someone would engineer a proper boarding platform.
E_T
This is just going to fail like the center console boats from a few years back
Baller gregy Posted November 7, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 7, 2015 @E_T depends on whether it will put out a monster wake or not.
Baller Dacon62 Posted November 7, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 7, 2015 @dihrdskir. Check out the thread "Skiing behind outboard boats". Looks like an Aussie boat company has come up with a clever boarding platform for outboards. Best I've seen so far anyways. http://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/12341/skiing-behind-outboard-boats
Baller oldjeep Posted November 7, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 7, 2015 @E_T they say costal and international. Seems like a good seller for salt/ brackish use
Baller 6balls Posted November 7, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 7, 2015 @oldjeep agree. Just no dedicated barefoot market of size to pull off a footing boat
Baller Dacon62 Posted November 7, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 7, 2015 If I used my boat primarily in the ocean this outboard would be great. Reduced chance of prop damage from dunnage in the water. Easy to replace if hit and you can get the whole motor and drive unit out of the corrosive water when parked. And look at all that space. Thinking that the new era of 4 stroke EFI outboards would hold speed a lot better too for a better overall pull then the old school oil pukers. Baller 6balls Posted November 8, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 8, 2015 Yah cavernous solve the platform issue and a hell of a family boat.
Baller xrated Posted November 8, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 8, 2015 Like a modern deck boat.
Baller liquid d Posted November 8, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 8, 2015 They will sell a bunch of these. It's already a barefoot boat. The platform looks like an easy add on based on the Aussie one.
ahopkinsTXi
@liquid d the NXT is already a barefoot boat???
Baller_ Wish Posted November 8, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted November 8, 2015 Actually those side platforms look very large comparatively. And hardly no one will put on a high end slalom ski with fancy lace or buckle bindings so what's the need? The price will be the deciding factor. Price it way above the flooded outboard family boat market (pun intended) and they will have a hard time selling IMHO
Baller 6balls Posted November 8, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 8, 2015 @wish big four stroke motor is pricey right out of the box...now tie it to a NXT hull my guess is it's pricey.
Baller ALPJr Posted November 8, 2015 Baller Share Posted November 8, 2015 The Evinrude E-techs have been popular repowers for Flightcrafts and Sangers.
