Baller Bill22 Posted September 11, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 11, 2015 Anyone have a list of past slalom world records from around 1980 to present? Skier / date / line length / score? Men's and women's?
Baller Bill22 Posted September 11, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted September 11, 2015 It would be cool to see the list, especially for those of us who have not been chasing buoys that long.

Baller Bill22 Posted September 11, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted September 11, 2015 @fu_man well that was easy. I should've known there was already a list posted somewhere.
Baller chris_logan Posted September 11, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 11, 2015 It feels like cooler air might be settling in with all these stat based threads. Nonetheless, still interesting stuff!
Baller Bill22 Posted September 11, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted September 11, 2015 @chris_logan don't say anything about cool weather on the way. Every year I stay in denial that the season is over right up till I open my first Christmas present. ☀️
Baller Texas6 Posted September 11, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 11, 2015 @MattP is quickly becoming the sports #1 Statistician
Baller Bill22 Posted September 11, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted September 11, 2015 If @MattP is truly the #1 sports statistics guy he could post all the men's slalom records in feet off.
Baller Edbrazil Posted September 11, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 11, 2015 Note that there are some 'incompletes' in the data. Such as Kris LaPoint 4 @ 38off (11.25m) at Horton Lake in 1975. See page 30 of the attached .pdf file, which shows it as a US record, and also shows the US records for all divisions, starting from the way back. I'm working on getting this resolved, along with a few others that should be World Records.
Baller Edbrazil Posted September 11, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 11, 2015 It was a while in the earliest record-keeping until 38 fell. Now, hardly anyone even pays attention to an Open Men competition until they're at 39 or 41.
Baller MichaelGoodman Posted September 11, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 11, 2015 MattP is doing a great job but @Edbrazil Probably has more skiing history in his head than Matt has in his computer.
Baller TEL Posted September 12, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 12, 2015 In the late 80's I was out skiing when a guy came down to the lake and asked if he could take a few pass through the course. He said he had not been on the water for a few years he ran down the line and ran 35 off. At that time no one on the lake could run a 15off. That guy was John Mondor. Wish we had a jump on the lake at the time.
Baller MattP Posted September 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 13, 2015 @MichaelGoodman, @Edbrazil is the History Guru for sure.
Baller Texas6 Posted September 13, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 13, 2015 @MattP among other roles, is now the resident statistician - @edbrazil is the resident historian. Both are key
