Baller Rivvy Posted August 30, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 30, 2015 I'm looking for some advice. I'm 170-175lb skier. Skiing at 34mph pb 3@ 28. I am skiing on a 2014 67" vapor alloy. I love the ski but have had the opportunity to ski a couple 66" lithium in free ski. I Plan to look for a used good deal this winter on a lithium. Would you recommend the 66" or 67" for my weight and ability?
Baller Chef23 Posted August 30, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 30, 2015 I would say 67".
Baller buoyboy1 Posted August 30, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 30, 2015 I am 180 and ski on a 66 at 34.2. Tried a 67 but it felt too big. I believe the new vapors are sized a little big. If I recall correctly a 66" vapor had about the same surface area as a 67" strada.
Baller Waternut Posted August 30, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 30, 2015 In fairness, everything is smoother and feels better free skiing. You are also less likely to make sudden movements or jump on the front of the ski while free skiing like you might do in the course when you're in trouble and that's where the shorter ski can really hurt you. For me, I've always felt more comfortable and gotten better buoy counts on the lower end of the weight scale than the upper limit...especially when the weight limit is for a 36mph ski and I'm skiing 34mph. Baller gregy Posted August 30, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 30, 2015 I'm 180 lb range on a 67" blue vapor. I'm 6'2" I think height make a difference. I tend to ski on 67" or 68"
Roller
I would go with a 67, I'm 5'8" at 175lbs and ski at 34 and the 67 is money
Baller Fine409 Posted August 30, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 30, 2015 I'm 5'11" and 175-180lbs and ski on a 67" Vapor. Although I never tried a 66", the 67" rips for me.

Baller Rivvy Posted August 31, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted August 31, 2015 Thanks for the feedback! Sounds like a 67" is the safest route. I do have a nice offer to try before I buy on a 66". We will see.
