New Goode Ski - 6 Years in the Making......

Gave one of the best gifts ever to my son today for his 6th Birthday. Dave Goode hooked me up with a 9800 for him http://goode.com and Darren Wiley built him some bindings https://www.wileyski.com .

 

 

 

He learned to deep water start last September when he was 5 and worked through crossing both wakes continuously by the end of the month. He was pretty close to running the jr balls when winter reared it's ugly face.

Funny story there..... I am from NH. My brother who is a die-hard Patriots fan made a bet where if the Seahawks won the Super Bowl, he would where a Seahawks hat for a month straight. If the Patriots won, then my son had to wear a Patriots shirt to school on the Monday after the game.

 

We have a "Only worn once" Patriots shirt for sale........ Just kidding he loves that shirt too!

@supergadget YES he would LOVE to ski the slough! Not sure when we will be up, I'll keep you posted. We got an RV this winter, so we will be doing a bit of tournament camping and will see what happens.

@GOODESkier keep an eye on the back binding and how close together you can get his feet. It looks to me like there might be too much space there for a kid with small feet. I had to grind the front of the rear binding down for my son when he was small to keep him from being on the toes of his back foot. Small kids don't always know to tell you when there is a problem (or even that there is a problem). You want to make sure that his back foot is flat when he is standing on the ski.

@Chef23 thanks for the heads up, I never used a RTP before, so I might have overlooked that one for sure! If the wind ever STOPS we are gonna go rip on that new ski!

@GOODESkier I was just noticing the pure joy and excitement on your face and your son's and the pure jealousy and sadness on your daughters face . She's thinking my birthdays comin and there had better be one on the table for me then!!!

@kurt I KNOW! Here birthday was in March. No ski for her this year, she will rock the HO Trainers for another season, unless she decides to go for the slalom like her big brother! I know, her face said a lot in that picture as well! Something for Dad to remember........ I'll slip her a few more M&M's this week in her munch as a treat.......
