Baller Mateo_Vargas Posted September 1, 2014 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2014 I know nothing about the equipment used here. Just a guy playing with his new toy who wanted to film us. A pretty interesting perspective on our urban site where skiing has been happening since the sixties. Fast forward to the 1 minute mark to see takeoff. https://www.dropbox.com/s/d8vy295fye5lef9/Aquatic%20Park.mp4?dl=

Baller ALPJr Posted September 2, 2014 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2014 I know of the '77 Nat's. David Spencer was Men's 1 overall champ.
kingshredd
Went down and watched the Cal. Cup there in the early 80s and saw Bob LaPoint set a new record for the time.

Baller Mateo_Vargas Posted September 2, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted September 2, 2014 The jump was rebuilt about 20 years ago but hasn't had much use in the last 15 yrs. Last year a graffiti artist paddled out there in the middle of the night and tagged the surface. We also had a homeless guy living under it. One of many interesting problems with urban skiing. The ramp is currently preserved with a thick layer of bird crap.
Baller ALPJr Posted September 3, 2014 Baller Share Posted September 3, 2014 The ramp had regular use when I was skiing there in 94 and 95. Good times - every weekend from April to October, and a weeknight here and there.
