Baller Stevie Boy Posted August 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted August 15, 2014 As a avid fan of the Wilson Bros, I was viewing some of their videos, check out the boat driving at the end of this vid, skier input also required.
Baller Stevie Boy Posted August 15, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted August 15, 2014 Ah! line attached to the Tower, wondering how they got that to work.
Baller oldjeep Posted August 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted August 15, 2014 Definitely not the same run at the beginning and end of the vid ;)
E_T
you can do around the boat without a tower. it just takes a driver with balls...

kstateskier
If you took every one of WB Minute Mondays and put them together you'd have alot of cool videos of some incredible skiing. I continue to be impressed by these two.
Baller estrom Posted August 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted August 15, 2014 It took a couple of days of trial and error to figure out speed, boat path, etc... but I was the boat driver and could get my friend on a kneeboard to get all the way around the boat and continue on without stopping. He took some spectacular spills during the trial and error part! Of note, this was a low profile O/B, similar to a barefoot sanger, sans the windshield. Baller ntx Posted August 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted August 15, 2014 Really is a pretty easy trick. We did around the boats 35 years ago. Almost every show team or performance at sea world did them.
Baller andjules Posted August 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted August 15, 2014 +1 what @ntx said Classic, basic show skiing manoevre. Although usually performed (and a lot easier) on jump skis, and with a windshield-less outboard with tall pylon.
Baller Edbrazil Posted August 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted August 15, 2014 Moomba used to do a 4-man around the boat 20+ years back. Lots of crashes while they were perfecting it. Hmmm...one side of that SL course sure looks close to shore.
Baller ForrestGump Posted August 15, 2014 Baller Share Posted August 15, 2014 We used to do around the the boats in a 93 Mastercraft. Stupid easy on jump skis. Not so easy on a slalom.
Baller bbirlew Posted August 16, 2014 Baller Share Posted August 16, 2014 Can't see the vid on my iPhone, but I used to go around the boat on a trick ski with a 89(?) supra comp back in the early 90s. Lots of fun!
Baller Drago Posted August 16, 2014 Baller Share Posted August 16, 2014 Used to break out the dick popes for that. Late 70s
Baller A_B Posted August 16, 2014 Baller Share Posted August 16, 2014 '77 SN - driver or passenger helped lift rope up over windshield.
Baller Zman Posted August 17, 2014 Baller Share Posted August 17, 2014 We used to do this late in the late 80's with one slalom skier going one way and one the other way. Trick was for the passenger to give one rope a quick lift as it slid over the windshield. Pretty easy trick really. I was one of the skiers, but I think the tougher learning curve was for the driver (and for us to survive until he got it right).
