Displaying a ski

Has anybody ever tried this with a waterski?

I have a ski that is (still) the only ski I ever used to run -38 in a tournament. I've been meaning to mount it since I switched the N1, but never quite seem to figure out what I want to do.

 

The boardstall is interesting but may not hold a water ski (or may be overkill anyhow).

 

Note that I have to mount on a diagonal because I don't have the space for horizontal or vertical.

 

Suggestions?

Pretty simple. Couple of screw in L hooks and the padding is just a automotive vacuum cap from a carb.

Clean it up, get some simple L brackets, throw away the L brackets, remove bindings from N1, mount the bindings back on the old ski, and go run more 38s!

@Drago‌ Hah! But no. That was an absolute miracle 38 and I only ran it one other time in practice that entire season. Last year on my N1 I ran it enough to lose count. Tournament 38s will come eventually.

I put up my collection of 'woodies', used a 2x4 on end with slits at the desired angle for the fins. The other side has a small brass screw that blend in well with the wood finishes so they seem to be floating. I used a 2x4 on both sides but in hind site I could have gotten away with a 2x2 or even 1x2 on the tip-side. The mounting boards are screwed into wall studs at the top and bottom. (As you can see by the bottom ski, the 'wide ride' isn't a new idea! Pat Connelly's Wake Special looks great!)
