Baller Mateo_Vargas Posted July 21, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 21, 2014 I've skied with at least 3 of those guys. Is that a GoPro mount on that guys ski on the far right?
Baller jipster43 Posted July 21, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 21, 2014 I didn't realize Henry Kissinger was a skier.
Baller ALPJr Posted July 21, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 21, 2014 Looks like Frosini to me. Never forget - got me started at Berkley Aquatic Park. More or less changed my life !

Baller Edbrazil Posted July 21, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 21, 2014 John Horton: can you name these people, please? Looks like 40+ years ago, and your father is one of them, of course. My best guess would have to be early 1970's. Great photo from the Olde Days; something for the AWSEF.
bogboy
@mayao Vargas, I believe so, and proof that he is a time traveler.
Baller mwetskier Posted July 21, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 21, 2014 @Mateo Vargas -the thing on that old obrien ski is a piece of foam float. awsa rules have always required a ski to float ande with the heavy double boot rubber and metal hardware it probably didn't float much if at all. back in the 70s jim salamas had a fiber glass western wood slalom with a big chunk of foam ski vest glued to the tip for the same reason. Members brettmainer
I need to get one of those red and white checkered outfits. If you are going to wear something like that, you have no choice but to be a good skier.
Administrators Horton Posted July 21, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted July 21, 2014 @Edbrazil I can name about half of those guys including my dad in the checkers. I'm sure somebody can do a better job of spelling names and getting it straight Goode ★ HO Syndicate ★ KD Skis ★ MasterCraft ★ PerfSki Radar ★ Reflex ★ S Lines ★ Stokes ★ Baller Video Coaching System Become a Supporting Member or make a One-time Donation

Baller jimbrake Posted July 21, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 21, 2014 Al Frosini looks like he was ready to bust some "West Side Story" moves in a dance fight.
Baller A_B Posted July 21, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 21, 2014 Those were the days! No fin adjustments, speed control, just skiing and chicks!
skibumm
I skied with Dick Kellner once with my uncle who was the Utah state slalom champion when I was a teenager. My uncle who is still a ski instructor at Alta came out with me last year and he was 76 and ran 28 off at 34 mph on his old EP 72 inch ski. I just wanted to stay in the boat after that because I am not worthy.
Baller matthewbrown Posted July 21, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 21, 2014 I think one of Smacker's giant feet has Dr. John pinned to the ground.
Baller Andre Posted July 22, 2014 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2014 I really dig the red chechered suit! O'Neill gotta jump on that pattern! Would sell like hot breads! What i see in this picture is the same camaraderie i have with my skiing patrners. That has not change in waterskiing. My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!
