Here is a video of myself skiing a few weeks ago. This is pretty typical for me. I've been where I'm at for a good while now and I don't seem to be getting much better. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I am the guy in the red-top drysuit. In the video, when you first see me, I'm at 22 off at either 32 or 34 mph. Then some other guy skis for a minute. Then then you'll see me skiing again. The 2nd one I'm at 28 off at 32 mph. I see things in the video that I definitely didn't know I was doing. But I would like your guys' opinions.

Funny thing about video, when I'm skiing I feel as if I look like Will Asher. Then when I saw the video, I was like "OMG! I look terrible! Is that me?!?"

Here's the link to YouTube:

Thank you in advance.

The first thing I noticed @Garn is that you need to ride more forward on your ski. Skis don't like to turn or accelerate when too much weight is on the tail. If all you do is drive yourself more over the front of your ski, especially in the pre-turn and turn, you will turn tighter and accelerate off the ball with more speed and angle.

Yup! Video can be pretty sobering. I call my GoPro my lie detector.

If you freeze frame when you are right behind the boat, there is too much tip up, which reduces your leverage and direction. A common mistake when leaning away is leaning back like and resulting in the position that @Skijay talks about. How to help, I would have you focus on getting the ski around and under the line before you lean, and have your arms straight and maybe straighten your backleg alittle and think stand tall. Load a little more on your lead arm and get the handle down on your hip and then tighten your core up (squeeze your butt cheeks together) and hold through both wake. Don't be afraid to run 28 off at 28 mph until you run it early, and then bump speed. If you don't have your handle on your inside hip, you are not leaning away enough. Just focus on away vs back. Even in gates. You shouldn't have much problem picking this up, you are consistent.

Wish you would have filmed more of the pull out. I always start at the start but that is missing. What I see..Lean in for gates looks good. Glide looked good. May be your timing in attempt to "make the gate" but you start transitioning to the new edge in the trough before the first wake. To soon. Need to stay on the edge to wake center. Freeze frame it and see. This sets you up for a narrow one and once your narrow, it's very hard to make that up in an efficient way. So, with the narrow one ball, your turn is difficult to finish with any good angle into two ball. Freeze frame just as you shoulder is past ball one and see. Your already back on the handle and the ski has not even come close to finishing the turn. Your upper body starts to lead the turn. Not stacked. Then you start the edge change in the trough again...all repeated 5 more times. So, back to the start. Pretty good stack at the white water before the gates. Keep that to centerline of wakes. Resist any notion of coming off that edge till then. Then start transition to opposite edge with more feel of pressure on lead arm (R arm). Do not let the boat twist your shoulder into the turn after second wake and before reaching. Resist that. Outcome will be wider, earlier. Outcome of that..ski will finish with more cross course angle especially if you allow your hips, and free arm to rotate back to the handle and not grab for it. It will come to you. Outcome of that...wider earlier into two ball.. Repeat 4 more times. NICE BOAT. NICE WAKES!!!

Thank you so much for your help and advice @SkiJay, @Wish, and @Ab. I see exactly what you guys are saying. Now let's see if I can apply it.

Again, thank you for your help.
