How good is the Wakeye? Hair of fire skiing is the test.

The test of a video tracker is how well it works when the skier has his hair on fire. I am not really proud of this skiing. I mean from 5 to 6 ball I look like a geriatric. Embarrassing skiing or not the Wakedye was with me all the way.

@bigtallweed Seriously? No.

There is no way in hell that I have time to test cameras. If you want me to review other stuff from Wakeye yes but cameras no.

@Horton I was not suggesting you go out and get cameras and do testing. What I was asking is people who come ski behind your boat and bring their cameras to mount on the Wakeye (I have one takes seconds). You pass on which setup works well. I know it would help me and I believe other ballers. Thought the panda was uncalled for but I can laugh at it. It's all in good fun.

Here is a video of 32 off at 36, using wakeye with iPhone 4S using Videozoom2 with image stabilization on. It is probably zoomed in too much. It has some distortion. Any hints how to minimize that?

Comments on the skiing are welcome. Some form breaks are catching up at 38 off.

@disland try using the Wakeye app (download from iTunes) should fix the distortion. It comes from high frequency wind vibration, your camera may be sitting too high and being hit by too much wind

Using the wakeye app, press your finger to the screen on your target for a couple seconds. This will cause a little yellow box to appear and the AE/AF indicator to turn on. This locks the focus and exposure and should stop the wavy affect you see due to the camera hunting for focus.
